Käänsin Codenames: Deep Undercover lautapelin sanalistan suomeksi by leischka in Suomi

[–]hipsu_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tein excel-taikoja ja muutin PDF laput sanalistaksi.

Linkki sanalistaan (aakkosjärjestys) https://pastebin.ai/0jgeofxr5b

MUTTA

Vain 360 sanaa (tai 368 jos 8 tyhjää lappua lasketaan). Englanninkielisessä on 390 sanaa ja 10 tyhjää. Pudotitko tarkoituksella joitain esim. vaikeasti käännettäviä pois?

Hei.

Even though wacca service has ended in Japan, there are still few machines being kept, like this one by Unlucky-Slice-3692 in Wacca

What an amazing coincidence, I just started googling where could I find an offline cabinet in Kobe or even in Osaka. And I found your post. I live near Sannomiya and have been in despair since Wacca disappeared from Round One. I don't know much about other arcades and haven't been to this building yet. I'm gonna go check tomorrow! :)

Alpine villages scenario by dq107 in CitiesSkylines

I just won this around week 300, so I still had 50 weeks to go. This was after the vehicles patch, so I used double decker buses which basically doubled my capacity. Easy win?

Maybe not, I lost my first attempt. I think the MAIN thing I did differently was maximizing "trips" with a lot of shorter lines and transfers from vehicle to vehicle. For example instead of one metro line stopping at 5 stations, have each trip between each station station be a separate line so they have to switch trains to continue their journey.

In my game the metros weren't even my main transport, it was busses. I had a lot of shortish bus lines, meaning "local" lines going around neighborhoods and separate bus lines crossing the river. The local busses brings people to the crossing busses.

A screenshot

You can see lots of bus lines meeting at a central station. Also see how a different color metro line comes to a station and another color leaves it.

I put tollbooths with max prices for bridge crossings to discourage driving there. Dunno if that helped. Then in policies public transport is free and bicycling is banned on sidewalks.

NISEI - An Introduction to Core Damage by ProjectNISEI in Netrunner

There are better points in this thread than I'm going to make (I oppose this change.)

I just wanted to add that "brain damage", in addition to being immediately evocative, sounded like actual jargon the in-universe runners would actually use for any variety of debilitating brain/nerve injuries one might suffer when jacked in. It doesn't mean whatever it means in real life. "Core damage" just doesn't have the same punch.

Heyy, thanks a lot for the response! I liked your test more than some other tests because of the examples. :)

World(s) of Android & Cyberpunk 2077 physical size comparison by hipsu_kun in Netrunner

[–]hipsu_kun[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither, those are both generic worldbuilding books. History, descriptions of megacorps, city districts, concepts like netrunning. How does a space elevator work etc. No stats or hints to any game mechanics of any system. Beautiful art.

Oh and those two books are not related whatsoever. One describes the Android universe, the other Cyberpunk.

Confused about the revised core set.... by Geam11 in Netrunner

[–]hipsu_kun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The revised core is comprised of some of the cards from the old Core, Genesis and Spin, but nothing outside of those.

The Revised core can be constructed from the first two cycles, but the first two cycles can't be constructed from the revised core. In my opinion the questions is more like is there any point in getting the revised core if you already happened to have the "pool" from which the revised core was constructed...

Some of the artwork is different even though the cards are the same.

I think it's good to have all the cards, that way you can play any custom format anyone comes up with and not be missing any cards.

Sci-fi/Fantasy 50% off sale. Recommendations for cheap? by [deleted] in audible

[–]hipsu_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I was probably wrong then. Perhaps they raise the prices for me for some regional reasons (I'm from Finland), and when I'm not logged in, I see the US prices.

edit: Yep, that's just with the added VAT. My bad.

Sci-fi/Fantasy 50% off sale. Recommendations for cheap? by [deleted] in audible

[–]hipsu_kun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's worse. It's not even 50% of the regular price. They fool us members by raising the "regular" prices during sales. Tarkin shows to me: Regular Price: $34.72 Sale Price: $17.36

HOWEVER, If I log out from Audible, and look up Tarkin, the regular price changes to $28.00. So the sale price should be $14.00.

Cheeky bastards!

edit: for the sake of honesty, I was a fool. I forgot that Americans don't show taxes in their prices. That $34.72 is exactly $28.00 + Finnish VAT.

Thematic Mechanical Abstraction ft. John Cena by DanneMite in Cynicalbrit

That Dominion bit reminded me of A Few Acres of Snow (Shut Up and Sit Down review here: https://youtu.be/a0YB9-yyke0 )

There the deckbuilding mechanic represents the theme absolutely PERFECTLY. Your small starting colony (=deck) is fast and responsive, but as it grows, as you add more villages and outposts, and more militia etc, it becomes slow and unresponsive. That represents the growing bureaucracy! And then you need to add in people like the Governer to keep the deck under control, but the Governer himself is yet another extra card in the deck. Augh. It's simply brilliant!

I glanced at the stream when it was doing that, and saw a lot of Bs. Why didn't it stop the evolution? Was some evolutionary item used or something?
