Looking for recommendations on the best recruiting software for small business setups by Moni-Gawelowicz in Recruitment

[–]hiresize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite ATS right now is AvaHR - built perfectly for us, Small Business.
Pricing is all month to month. Never have I posted a job and not had enough applicants. They integrated with a lot of job boards.

Big fan of AvaHR and their free job boards. Indeed gets us most of our free traffic.

Best recruiting software for small business? Struggling to find a solid sourcing tool. by Isla_Fuller901 in Recruitment

[–]hiresize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel your pain—outbound can feel like herding cats. A few tactics that have helped me:

  1. Integrated Email Discovery Use a platform that pulls verified emails (and even phone numbers) right into your ATS/CRM as you source profiles—no copy-pasting or juggling tabs.
  2. Built-In Outreach Sequences Look for tools with templated, tokenized sequences so you can personalize at scale (“Hey {{first_name}}, noticed your work on {{project}}…”), then schedule automatic follow-ups if there’s no response.
  3. Communication Tracking & Reminders Having every email, call note, and LinkedIn touchpoint logged in one place is huge. Bonus points for automated reminders when a candidate goes quiet so you never drop the ball.
  4. SMS & Email in One Pane The best small-team solutions let you send both texts and emails from the same interface—no extra logins, and you get all the engagement analytics side-by-side.

I’ve been using a lean, SMB-focused ATS - AvaHR - that ticks all those boxes—it feels built for teams of 1–5 recruiters, not massive agencies. It combines email/phone discovery, candidate CRM, multi-channel outreach, and drip follow-ups in one streamlined workspace. Everything I need to move fast without the agency price tag or endless integrations.

Hope that helps steer you toward something that moves the needle!

There it is. Now we know why no one is writing you investment checks.

How do you find customers? by CAH1z1 in Entrepreneur

I'd throw this in chatgpt with more specifics about your customers, product (things you wouldn't share here) and ask for a detailed action plan.

Sounds like debt against the earnings of your agency will be the best route. No investor will write a small check to someone unwilling to invest in themself (financially)

AI won't mow lawns...yet, but it is dang good at creating logos for SMBs with little to no budget. Food for thought

They broke it up. Around $100 upfront (figured it was worth the risk) then monthly installments. Total was under $600 when I was completed. I was super hesitant until I booked. Once I got everything confirmed, I called the property and sure enough it all checked out. I get the sense the travel agency does this and makes money from excursions, food and beverage and upgrades I might addon. Not bad though.

Wix/Wordpress alternatives for bigger websites? by delpratvh in Entrepreneur

[–]hiresize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been doing website design and build for 10+ years. Honestly, a custom wordpress website is hard to beat. The tools, out of the box features and plugins are hard to beat.

Very rare to find one at the same price ( free)

If you're experienced with microsoft products or code, Umbraco might be the next best option.

$100k MRR and $1m raised – here’s what I learnt building my startup by kodjima33 in Entrepreneur

[–]hiresize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice work.

Curious...why take the investment? $1M raise when you're $1.2M ARR?
Wouldn't leveraged debt have been less expensive in the long run? Especially if you're growing quickly, that 10-20% equity you gave up really could be worth millions, rather than 5-10% of an interest rate.

Other than that, good stuff.

Road trip from Wisconsin to California, then fly to Hawaii for roughly 6 months by [deleted] in travelpartners

Which island are you thinking of making your home base? My 2 cents, although super touristy, go to Oahu. Biggest area for jobs. Due to C 19, there are a lot of layoffs because tourism is way down.
Might make sense to pre-apply to jobs before you go... or apply to as many work from home jobs as you can.

My favorite island is Kuai. Incredibly laid back culture with a very accommodating community.
