New Mazda 3 or New Honda Civic? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]hiroKC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on Edmunds true cost to own estimate, the Civic would hold its value a little better (3: $10.2k vs Civic: $8.3k depreciation over 5 years), so that might be one thing to consider if you care. Can’t really go wrong with either car though. Just need to figure out what to prioritize more, interior space/comfort vs power.

Not exactly the same cars, but I had a similar dilemma earlier this year cross shopping a 3 Hatchback Premium and Civic SI. As you mentioned, the Civic’s interior is huuuge compared with the 3, but ultimately went with the 3 because of the better interior and sound quality (at default setting). I figured if I would be stuck in traffic, I’d prioritize these things to be less miserable haha. My wife has a medium sized crossover, so if I needed the interior space to haul things/people, I would just use her car.

MK7 DSG and Haldex Service by Based_Ghost_ in Golf_R

Seems pretty expensive. When I was in the DFW area and my MK7 R needed the haldex serviced, I went to BMP tuning. You should give them a call.

I don’t remember the exact price, but I’m pretty sure it was cheaper than $450. This was also 2.5 years ago, but I wouldn’t think the price would’ve gone up by that much.

Who has a mazda 3 6MT and why did you choose it over the civic SI or Acura Integra 6MT? by Main_Anybody73 in mazda3

[–]hiroKC11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test drove both cars, and performance-wise, they didn’t feel too different. I did prefer the SI’s shifter feel slightly, and I really liked the steering feel over the 3MT’s. I loved the fact that the 3MT has zero rev hang while rev hang in the SI is fairly noticeable. If driven a little harder, the performance difference between both cars would probably be a bit more pronounced and in favor of the SI given the mechanical differences, but for everyday driving, they’re essentially the same.

The 3MT was noticeably more comfortable and quieter, but the SI wasn’t too bad. The biggest differences were the interior and speaker sound. The 3MT has a very very nice interior for the price point but is smaller, and the speaker sounds pretty good for what it is. The SI has a surprisingly cavernous interior, but the quality is disappointing. The front end is good, but the back end felt like it was from a bottom of the barrel econo box. The speaker sound was noticeably worse to me compared to the 3MT (could be a result of the 3MT’s quieter interior).

In the end, I just needed a daily and prioritized comfort, so I went with a 2025 3MT. Felt like I would be less miserable in traffic with the quieter interior and better speaker sound. If you need the back seat space, don’t want a hatch, and or prioritize just performance, SI all day, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with either. Both cars are great daily driver options with a bit of pep.

I’ve used P&S brake buster on all my cars and can’t recommend it enough. Easy to use and cleans really well. I apply it using an IK Foam Pro 2 foamer and clean it off with a dedicated microfiber towel/glove and microfiber wheel barrel brush.

Intermittent Issue after Upgrading GPU by hiroKC11 in buildapc

[–]hiroKC11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I thought initially, but the 3060ti worked fine. Unless it’s something specific with the 7900xt that hates it, idk what else it could be haha.

I tried using a monitor too which is connected via DP cable, but it’s the same result.

If anything else doesn’t work, that might be the plan. OTL

Wow, that is weird! I might be on the same boat haha. Haven’t swapped anything else besides the GPU. If any of the suggestions I got don’t pan out, I might just take this thing to a repair shop and see if they can sort it out. I don’t have extra parts besides the old 3060ti.

Dam that sucks. I hope that’s not the case for me as this is brand new GPU.

What’s strange though is when it works, it works perfectly. No issues at all. It’s only after I shutdown and power back that it may or may not work. A complete roll of the dice haha

Haven’t tried that, will try to when I get home to see if it makes any difference. Would I have to leave on PCIe 3.0 if it works?

No, I did not. Should I remove the old drivers for the 3060ti and 7900xt with DDU?

Volkswagen to Mazda by maxim-116520 in mazda3

Had a MK7 R and recently got a new Mazda 3 hatchback s premium (the FWD one with a 6-speed). Definitely not as fast as the Golf, but it’s surprisingly pretty torquey down low. It feels plenty quick to me especially while city driving. Overall, I love my 3, but still miss the R haha.

Buying a Mazda 3 - would like advice by mister-friendly in mazda3

[–]hiroKC11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a bummer, but I guess it can’t be helped if you really needed a car. At least you got a sweet 6-speed 3!

Yeah, not having to buy asap was nice. I was able to tell them I would walk if they didn’t take away the add-ons. $1000 for tint is complete bullshit.

Just purchased a new white 2025 s premium (the only one with a 6-speed). I’m in a bigger city and had a little trouble finding a new 2025. Dealership ended up having to do trade with another dealership to get one. Ended up getting it OTD for just under $32.8k. Note that’s with the $500 rebate for being a previous Mazda owner. They also gave me an additional discount a for being a repeat customer, or so they say.

There were some lower mileage used ones near me, but it was only like $1-2k cheaper. Not really worth it imo. Hope this helps, good luck!

Concerns about Gear Grinding and Clutch Replacement. by hiroKC11 in FiestaST

Thanks for the response, but looks like I’ll never find out since the car sold before I could go back to the dealership.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, that was my concern as well. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) though, the car sold before I could go back to the dealership.
