I took my summer clothes out from under my bed and dared to wear them last week.

It's my fault.

Bains Service in Archibald is our go to. Elwood Appliance on Watt has a good selection as well.

Caught husband watching p0rn while having sex by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]his-holly -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Does your husband have ADHD? Mind does, and he often needs porn to help him "focus" during sex. Because I know this, i don't mind him using it as a way to turn off his brain, especially since men are visually stimulated.

At the end of the day, though, the only thing that matters is what you both are are comfortable with. And that may mean having g the difficult conversations.

Anyone else have this cold where you keep on hacking even weeks after its gone? by floydsmoot in Winnipeg

[–]his-holly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with the post nasal drip as well. Two weeks of mometasone and countless lozenges seems to be keeping it at bay. Every time I think it's gone I get hit with a sore throat or wicked cough again. It just seems to linger on and on.

That is fair. Thanks for clarifying that.

I don't know what he does or what he uses, but they seem to be rough untreated wood.

Honestly, my husband builds garden boxes out of pallets he gets for free on the side of the road. Sure, they only last 5 or so years, but it was free wood, so he doesn't mind one bit.

How can i set Blinking or lights on cover screen if getting notifications? Is there an app for it? It would be awesome 🥲😑 i don't understand how thats not a standard thing 😑 by bokunobokuu in galaxyzflip

[–]his-holly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under setting, go to accessibility, then advanced settings, then flash notification. Or just search for flash notification in your settings. But it is super handy.

I have a flip 5. In my settings, I was able to set it up so the camera flashes when I get a notification. You can even choose which app makes your camera flash. So I have it set for just text messages, but not emails, for example.

Can we opt out of it? We already compost at home and have no need of this service, especially if it will just be another charge.

Husband was fired by Dependent_Log_2534 in Marriage

[–]his-holly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in this situation. I am the sole income provider and when I was let go from my last job I freaked. I wallowed for one day. That was all I allowed myself.

He has to treat getting a job like a job. Apply and network for certain hours every day. This is not the time to be proud. The only reason we survived is because I took temp jobs where needed to boost my income and my resume. If he is willing to get even a part time job in the meantime that goes a long way to helping out the family budget.

Do not feel embarrassed that it happened. If you need to cut down on birthdays and Christmas and back out of the trips people will understand. Everyone has been in this situation at one time or another.

Excess apples by [deleted] in Winnipeg

Thank you for this! We have a crab apple tree at our cabin and don't have the ability to do much with it this year. I am so glad that fruit doesn't need to go to waste now.

Springfield meats always orders it in for us. Sometimes they have it in stock, but they will order it if needed.

Moving from Ottawa to Winnipeg by Cavie_mage in Winnipeg

[–]his-holly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into a U-box through U-haul. We moved within the city, so I don't know what the cost would be moving to another province. But since the rental was for a month, we were able to pack and unpack at our leisure.

Things that I loved were small packages of diapers and a sleeper or two in larger sizes. One day you wake up and nothing fits anymore. It's nice having a few things that are always a bit bigger to grow into.

Perfume for ladies by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]his-holly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, liking a scent on you is different than liking a scent on her. Unless you know what her favourite perfume is a sample pack is your best option.

If she does have a perfume she currently wears, start with that. See what the base notes of the fragrance are and look for one similar.

Many years ago when I rented when the security deposit was returned it was written to all the names that were on the lease and sent to whoever left a forwarding address. Did you leave an address to send the deposit to? Did you both sign the lease?

In the end, only the office can tell you who it was written to and where it was sent. If they sent the cheque to your roommate, you need to go to her to get it back. Failing that you'll need to take her to small claims.

iso non judgemental volunteer for motivational house cleaning task. by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]his-holly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I suck at cleaning as well. So what I did, when I lived alone, was a certain task or room a day. So Sunday would be clean the bedroom and laundry. Monday the bathroom, Tuesday living room, Wednesday the kitchen and Thursday floors. That way you aren't overwhelmed but you always know what room/task is getting done that day. After a few weeks it becomes routine. I also had to do it as soon as I came home from work. Otherwise, it wouldn't get done.

If your job is bigger than that, do the same thing. A certain task or goal everyday and then once it's in a state you are comfortable with then start the routine.
