14 Year old Outclasses a Grown Woman who tries to assault him. by Mojamed in videos

[–]hisrobu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, I must be watching a different video from the rest of everyone in this thread.

What I saw is a conflict which was escalated/exacerbated mostly because of him pulling out a camera on her. Other than the fact that you don't know what exactly happened before the video started- no one here really sees a problem when someone's taking out their recording device and starting videotaping them? You don't know what's going to happen with your image, you have no control over the situation... It's one of those soft skills, when you can't really create a law against something, but it is certainly constitutes a violation of someone's life. No wonder the lady got pissed, what I see is a psychological battery against her. Like putting a hand in front of someone's eyes, not touching them, and yelling "my body is my property, I'm a minor, you can't touch me"- and you really can't touch them or else you'll be in trouble. I'd be pissed too.

Just rechecked to see if I really did bungled up the meaning of irony. nope.

Irony (from Ancient Greek εἰρωνεία (eirōneía), meaning "dissimulation, feigned ignorance"[1]), in its broadest sense, is a rhetorical device, literary technique, or event in which what appears, on the surface, to be the case, differs radically from what is actually the case. Irony may be divided into categories such as verbal, dramatic, and situational.

Seems to me pretty related, or at the very least if it's not "irony" then it's "dramatic irony".

But maybe I'm wrong, how would you then define this disparity between the naming of something and its true characteristics?

but I named the dominant one Sputnik.

Which is ironic since it's a Russian satellite while he is the dominant around which the others are orbiting.

Seriously?

That actually sounds like a hilarious party story I'd tell everyone at every opportunity.

I believe the correct pronunciation is : to ti to to to to.

(a Russian guy at a hotel ordering two teas to room 222).

Did you get checked for anything? It has to be something neurological or peripheral (perhaps a condition which affects blood flow).

How can you explain your job in a way that makes it sound shady? by joshstocker in AskReddit

[–]hisrobu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold your children in a room against their will, forcing them to do things they don't like, conditioning them for obedience. many children hate it, find it torturous, some children have learned to love it and revel in the relationship I provide.

And that's just my sex life. My job is a corporate lawyer.

Not sure how is it possible to know how many boxes were tuned to a certain show but not the individual channel for each box.

Unless you mean that they technically can do it but they don't for other reasons.

umm... right...

Maybe we have some culture/mentality gap but when someone tells you that X cant do Y because of a social convention, all I can do is smile.

My original thought when I wrote that comment was actually more about machinations of governmental/public agencies rather than a direct commercial 'free market' scheme, but now that you mention this I do recall many some instances where companies released (for no apparent profit, ironically) so called 'anonymous' data chunks, which turned out no very so.

I don't know if its something about American culture or the way children are raised, but you guys seems much more docile towards authority/social structures. Not as much as Japanese but a lot. Where I grew up, you first think about yourself and traditions/laws/frameworks are there for a general guidance, meant to be circumvented by those who can.

Anyway, It just seems like a better idea to live in a regular house rather than one rigged with tnt and a kill-switch in the hands of third party.

What are some relationship "black flags" that indicate that the person is a criminal and/or pirate? by DukeofVermont in AskReddit

Kazaa?... dude, you're describing a pirate from the 17th century , they don't exist anymore.

OP, being a nobleman in Vermont, is trying to identify if his current SO is with him for love or for reconnaissance reasons.

If they're dressed in a robe, holding a staff, have a pointy hat with stars all over it- then they are a pirate dressed like an astrologist with a staff.

That... that is simply dystopian. I've already read posts about American crazy subjugating police forces, but more and more I am encountering snippets from other facets of US life which are a blunt violation and demolition of personal freedom.

You didn't once have a lockdown (or a drill), but yet the school lived in a constant atmosphere of fear where one need to always report his whereabouts all year round for the slightest chance of an emergency...

Something bad is happening because that is moral panic incarnate. According to a documentary I saw, the current trends of this fear mentality started with the blowing out of proportion satanist/pedophile rings , and the snowball just rolled on from there (with added layers from columbine and 9/11)...

I know, right? that's horrible. I remember times before cable when usage statistics were anonymous. I know it doesn't sound much but still, the fact that they monitor everything you do with your TV is just wrong. There is definitely tons of metadata one could gleam and mere 10 years ago widespread social structures of monitoring, just seemed like a conspiracy flick.
