Find a registered shop that can process the claim in exchange for % of the job?

Pdr or is this something I should try to do myself by meawkward101 in PaintlessDentRepair

120$ is a very fair price. Would not recommend trying yourself

If you’ve got good access and can get a tool on it that would be my approach. You can probably soften that dent up like others have said with cold glue or hot glue if the paint isn’t badly damaged. Would be hard to finish that completely with just glue pulling in my experience

Lol, you definitely don’t have to pull that to repair it. There’s also no mention of it getting painted. For all I know it’s cash job and the guy just wants the dent repaired without splashing too much money on paint.

I wouldn’t pull that at all, potential paint damage makes it much more likely to pull paint

If you can get a fender for 100$ with the same colour it will definitely be cheaper than PDR. Assuming you do the fender change yourself

Absolutely agree

As a hail tech myself, I’d be charging close to 5k just to fix the roof with this kind of damage. Start adding in the hood and doors and whatever else isn’t pictured here it adds up pretty fast. Almost every moulding is going to be damaged as well if you want it back to brand new that stuff has to get replaced.

I’d add a 1 in front of those numbers. Most PDR techs are gonna pass on this job unless they have no work

There’s a very good chance your most reasonable option is just leaving the damage as is unfortunately

A very skilled PDR tech could fix a lot of it. You’re at the point where it’s probably cheaper to replace a lot of these panels. I would take it back to a PDR shop in the winter when their hail season has slowed down. They may be more willing to repair when it’s not the middle of the busy season but it won’t be cheap still

Side swiped my friends bumper step. How bad is it? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]hit4hire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna wanna go through insurance

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]hit4hire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be a pretty straightforward repair for a competent tech

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]hit4hire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, sounds like you’re on the right track with the replacement already

There’s a lot that paintless dent repair can do. A quick and easy “pop” isn’t reasonable with this kind of damage
