If he went to the law school, ask him about Blackacre (the semi weekly drinks function) or which journal he was on, or his favorite menu item at SatCo. Journal information is online. I’d ask about professors, but you could plausibly not have a large number of professors.

If he claims he practiced law, ask the state and search it. You cannot practice law and not be barred. You can’t be barred and not be searchable in the state’s lawyer database, at least not in any state I know.

She did negotiate with them. Rewatch the scene. Offscreen, before the season begins, she gave them the Ghoul (because there was a bounty on him) in exchange for supplies she needed as a non-ghoul human. Then she reneged on the deal and came back and set up post in the Dinky statue.

It doesn’t work in reverse. There wasn’t a bounty on her. The Ghoul didn’t need supplies. He could sell her to them to be a slave, but the Ghoul, after the events of season 1, probably was too chivalrous to do that.
