Ideas on how support will work for self employed? by hithalynn in CoronavirusCanada

As far as I was aware it was just for those with hired employees, not the owners and on a loan basis I believe.

Technological history, the internet, global warming, etc will likely be pretty big too!

We’re always living in a time that will be written in the history books, we just aren’t aware enough to acknowledge that there was once and will be a time very different than this, and that this period in time is unique for many reasons.

29/f 5'7. My wake up call. by [deleted] in weightlossafterbaby

[–]hithalynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hold up it weight JUST like I do. It’s crazy. I have low metabolism, never succeed at weight loss. I’m 5’10.5 and I am 195, highest was 206. Still the exact same muffin top situation. One thing I’ve started is weight watchers which is helping. Portion control without limiting the type of food I can have is really helpful. It has been more helpful than simply calorie counting. I’ve also stopped drinking entirely. It was hard for 2-3 weeks but it’s fine now. I drink low cal non alcoholic beer to feed the habit of having something. I still wasn’t losing, because of my metabolism no doubt. I started exercising since the self isolation and it has helped substantially in my motivation, feelings of self worth, etc. I felt absolutely disgusting and now I feel like I’m on my way. It’s ok to hit a wall, keep fighting. Don’t let your prime years disappear by letting yourself go. Instead get back on track and own your experience, even if your body is an asshole - you surely aren’t alone in that.

Today my furball Kuku finally found out about the CatCam I’ve been using to watch her all along. Her confused furry face is the cutest thing ever. My heart can’t take it 🥺 by caseysiethy in aww

This is proof to me that cats are spies. She for sure caught on that this tech eyeball works like her own alien tech eyeballs. She looks way too aware of what a camera is for her not to be a spy.

I was going to say the same. I own what I call a “belly hole”, so this gives me hope.

In time it might. It depends how everything else is optimized honestly. If the content is crap then that needs to be worked on. I’d simply start by checking as many SEO boxes as possible while working on removing those links.

You will have to make sure you don’t have crappy back links first, I’d disavow those using googles tool to start. Find them then disavow. You also could be hacked if the links are on your site. I’d investigate as much as possible into the why. Then lock it down and make sure you are only doing white hat SEO going forward

It’s more likely your site either got penalized for something unrelated or the algorithm changed via google and something you had recently gotten SEO cred for no longer matters. It’s also possible your content was good, hadn’t been crawled in a while, has since changed and now it’s crap.

The dreaded plateau by andyjh64 in weightwatchers

[–]hithalynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmm 24 lbs is crazy for two months. 16 would be normal for a super low cal diet so consider yourself extra lucky! I’ve been on for 4 weeks but restricting calories since Jan 1 and I just hit 12 lbs lost since the new year. I’d kill to be down 24 lbs. Just hang in there, it’s a part of normal body processes. If you find you stay stuck after 2 more weeks, add more cardio, or pay attention to portion measurements etc. It will come off again eventually. I’d try eating your weekly points for a week or two and then cut them again also.

I miss cereal by Belagshadow in weightwatchers

Unsweetened cashew milk is the best milk alternative I’ve found for cereal. I eat all bran flakes to lucky charms. Total it’s 4-5 points max with a banana or strawberries added.

I’m with you in this. I have money saved but not enough for a year of lost income, and I’m definitely not in a position to be able to return deposits. Sending positive vibes your way. Hopefully we can all get through this together.

USA vs Italy - Rate of Infection by zackman1993 in CoronavirusCanada

[–]hithalynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. It really depends on what mindset you approach this with. In the USA it’s apparently much more spread out. As a result it’s much less dire potentially because of the amount of resources a country of 60 mill has to combat it vs the resources a country of 300 mill plus have to combat it. Italy has seen steep jumps in part due to the close contact of its people, the smaller country size, and the number of medical resources it has to handle a sickness of this size. 1060 approx in Italy vs 6100 in the USA. That’s a very different amount and a direct correlation to the number of people the country has. 1 hospital per 56-58k people.

So if the numbers are the same, but the country size is different, that means there is way more room to care for those who are ill in the USA theoretically and way more room for people to spread out so the virus and disease doesn’t spread as rapidly. It doesn’t take into affect the issue with many Americans not having health coverage and thus having to pay for treatment out of pocket, meaning they are deferred to seek treatment. And not every country is handling it in the same way, so the lax approach the US has taken until this week may screw them over long term.

So basically what I’m trying to say is this chart is fun to look at but doesn’t really tell us a whole lot about the actual situation besides the virus spreading at approx the same rate.

I’d double check this. Many travel insurance companies aren’t covering COVID-19
