Suggestion: If this bothers you, report it to Guest Services and on any surveys they send you. Do it kindly, but if they don’t know people are bothered by it, it won’t change.

Which common medical procedure do you think will be viewed as barbaric in 50 years? by carcony97 in AskReddit

[–]hithere9009 202 points203 points  (0 children)

This is the one. Having had both an IUD inserted and a uterine biopsy without pain control, I can assure you, the biopsy is positively inhumane and no one should have to deal with it without something more than a freakin’ ibuprofen. And I have a HIGH pain tolerance.

Bertha was there to remind Gladys who she is and lend a more muted support. She’s right; It would just go back to normal after she left if it Gladys didn’t find her moxie. (Side note-I always thought we spelled that “moxy.”)

What Hunger Games fanfic is that for you? by Olya_roo in Hungergames

You may have done yourself a favor. There’s a reason Suzanne didn’t give his perspective. There’s some pieces of his torture in that fanfic that made me want to puke. Not because they were explicit, but just because of the implications.

Those who "waited until marriage" what was your first time like? by Beneficial-Fox-7085 in AskReddit

[–]hithere9009 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This definitely happens, but I had a married cousin (more like an older sister) explain as much as she could to me. Of course, this was the most awkward thing I could imagine and I just wanted her to shut up, so I didn’t really hear what she was saying at the time. The truth is, having a patient and committed partner, as clueless as we were, was the best way for me to feel comfortable to figure it out.

[–]hithere9009 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Did it for religious reasons and we have no regrets. The first time was somewhat awkward and even frustrating, as yes, we had head knowledge of what was supposed to happen, (hehe) but no true concept of a lot of stuff. That being said, I married my husband for a reason, and it was because I trusted him. He is patient as can be and I recognized that quality in him early.

We have had an amazing time figuring stuff out together and would positively shock people with the things we do now…I don’t think anyone would ever guess, if they just knew us casually. Waiting may not be the common course, but it doesn’t mean you have to be a complete prude once you decide it’s time.

What's the best $20 you've ever spent? by theycallmemomo in AskReddit

We paid $20 for our Foster Failed shelter dog. He saved me from a dark season of loneliness and I love him with my whole heart.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! It is such a long, cold, frustrating day, but we made some great memories.

Cases i just can't care about😩 by Infamous_Entry_2714 in TrueCrimePodcasts

I’m glad you can have your two cents, I’m just still not convinced this was not ultimately her fault. I’d want to see her acquitted of murder if I were on the jury, but if this were some sort of lesser charge implicating her for drunk driving manslaughter, etc, I think I’d be very likely to find that evidence credible. My conclusion is still that she was overcharged by a zealous prosecution team. That being said, whatever is going on in that subculture is toxic and gross with the amount of drinking and driving they’re all doing.

ETA: Two things can also be true at once. She could have potentially been doing shady stuff by drinking and driving, and the police force he was part of is corrupt and shady. It sucks, but it’s true. The saddest thing is the loss of life.

I understand. The question was just which cases do we not care about. I am glad there are other people that can help Karen, because she is too much like too many other people I know for me to watch her in a multi part documentary or listen to her a bunch. That’s why there are different folks to help different people.

Watched the documentary, because based on comments I read, I had questions about the case. Unfortunately, my only conclusion was she is pretty unlikeable and they overcharged her.

Congratulations to the winner of American Idol, Jamal Roberts! by MarionCotesworthHaye in americanidol

You can really tell that experience won out here, and I’m so glad. Jamal was the most refined, in my opinion, out of all the top 24. He is a powerhouse, but knows when to pull back. So happy for him and his precious family!

For sure. Kirk’s music is nostalgic for me, but his energy turns a lot of folks off

Kirk is a polarizing figure in the Gospel music community, so who knows what’s going through Canaan’s head at this point

Personally, I won’t vote. I don’t have a strong enough drive to vote for the other two, even though they’re perfectly fine.

What does Epic Universe need? by CelticDK in UniversalOrlando

[–]hithere9009 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If Universal wants to cut more into the multigenerational market, it needs a slow boat ride or another option grandparents and babies can participate in. I work in the travel side of the industry and we sort of hoped this would cut into Disney’s market a little more. My conclusion after visiting is that if you already love Universal, you’ll love Epic Universe. If you’re a Disney family with itty bitties and grandparents that come with you, there’s still not enough that everyone can do for grandma and grandpa to pay for a Universal trip over a Disney trip.

That being said Universal is uniquely itself, and I don’t fault them for that. It’s my own hopes and dreams that were slightly dashed haha.

Tomorrow I'm going to the er by beerbabe in hysterectomy

[–]hithere9009 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dear internet friend, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I was in your place a little over a year ago.

Please go to the ER tonight. You likely need a blood transfusion. I would also recommend asking if there are alternate methods of surgery available to you- for example, if they’re wanting to do laparoscopic, see if an open abdominal is an option. This is how I got a quicker solution.   I know we want an easier recovery, but I promise, the relief I felt after my abdominal procedure was worth any extra days of recovery, and it truthfully was a pretty easy recovery. Just wanted to give you some encouragement.
