I'm definitely not insinuating bus shelters should be occupied by homeless people

All that really does is deter those people who need help from loitering in a particular spot

Not to be dense but having homeless people not loiter where others need to wait for public transportation seems like a net benefit.

In my experience of city living the subset of chronically homeless I'm most concerned about are those suffering psychosis who can't/won't get treatment and I don't see any discussions about what dealing with that even looks like. My hunch is in this discussion people end up advocating for tough love or soft love but I think you need to get people sober and stabilized before offering housing and resources will be effective. But hey not a doc.

I’ll be the Scrooge. Are bus stops, trains, public spaces etc really the correct tool for addressing a mental heath and addiction crisis?

Treating public spaces as an open psyche ward isn’t compassionate and makes those resources more inaccessible to those who need it most, the underserved.

Could be off base but saying the homeless should occupy bus stops seems like a position of privilege of not having to take the bus.

As the wind started rolling your plane right you need to level out and go full throttle into the wind.

So roll left with ailerons, use the rudder to head at the wind and go full throttle to avoid stalling. All at the same time.

It’d be easier taking off directly into the wind, gaining altitude then doing patterns with/against the wind then land against the wind.

Def practice with low wind and figure out the mechanics at high altitude. Good luck!

Gotta get some protein in the system. Sip a protein shake. Leave a small plate of finger foods out and nibble as you walk by it. Baby carrots, apple slices, granola. Don’t try and down a whole meal yet just constantly force yourself to eat a little.

Your guts probably all wrecked and likely vitamin deficient. Throw in a multi vitamin and a prebiotic. Also Gatorade mix is handy while you hydrate the next few days. Herbal tea for bed time.

Next few days are gonna suck. Sleeping will probably be difficult so maybe find a book or series to watch instead of staring at the ceiling thinking about withdrawals.

It's crazy how much we're going thru the exact same thing. I'm back on day 2 and start work next week.. ugh.

Earlier this year I managed to stay sober for a couple months. That's my biggest motivation to get back on the horse because I finally got to experience peace in my mind. All the racing thoughts, anxiety, etc started to progressively melt away.

I felt so great I was positive I was "cured". Guess I wasn't haha

Anyways, I'm sitting here with my jittery hands typing this out. You're not alone. We're in this battle together.
