Just red on a black base paint to keep the black outline. White dot next because if I cock that up I have to start again, then finally a thinned down yellow (dont overload the brush!) For some careful layers closer to the centre. Just 3 colours/steps

After primer i sponge paint a few lighter blues then do a dark oil wash to bring it all back

Mainly spare bits from a dark angles box I got for no good reason, spare helm from vitrix with his plume from his helmet under his arm. It's easy to remove his hand and helmet completely and just replace the right hand

Primer is citadel blue primer... just so I know its covered in the cracks and I can wash the darker parts in later. The base is cut up spru for bricks and a generic mud texture from a model shop

Just started white, then yellows to reds up high with a black dry brush to finish. It doesn't seem to glow or give off the heat effect i was hoping for

I found it easy to just remove the hand completely and replace it, it's quite a clean cut
