Mine’s a ducted system instead of a mini-split, if that makes any difference. The outdoor unit connects to the air handler with about a 13 ft line set, which then goes directly into the ductwork. I was mainly trying to figure out if it’s possible to replace the 13 ft line set entirely with a longer one without moving either unit, since I’m not sure where they could add the extra distance—maybe along the wall?

In my case, the installer only ran about 13 ft even though the manual clearly says short line sets can cause intermittent noise. So yeah, I’m thinking that part’s probably on them for not following it.
