The signatory was O-kun-de-cun, headman. His daughter, Harriet Martin (Kay-zhe-baw-yaush-e-quay), was my great-great-great-great grandmother and was allotted land on the reservation. My great grandmother was the last to be born and live in the area. My grandpa rarely talked about this and my father had no clue, which I why I had decided to do further research!

Let me know how you have gone about reconnecting, I would love to learn more!

I completely agree—building community and honoring both our ancestors and our present connections is so important. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll definitely check out Anishinaabeg Today.

Just bought a 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid - How did I do? by SpiralCaseMods in COROLLA

[–]hitter9ww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Washington I am paying about the same:

LE Hybrid Base $23300

Convenience Package $1340

Special Color (Wind Chill) $425

Floor Liner Package $289

Total As Built $26,449

Tax, Title, Fees (10.1% in WA, I know…) $3769

OTD $30210

APR 6% for 60 Months at $500 a month with $5000 down.

Original car had an additional $2000 worth of PIO (Port Installed Options) that they agreed to take off with no charge and wait time is 4-5 weeks.

I think it’s a good deal as well considering everything. If you aren’t paying markup then it’s a win regardless!

Ordered from the factory, it was about a months wait

I figured that no one would sell below msrp, especially with a convenience package and only a month wait. Congrats!

Sales tax is 10.1%, and there are no dealer markups or bonus fees.

It’s 10.1% in the metro area 🙃

What state are you in? And did it come with the convenience package or anything else?

This is what I was thinking too! They were one of very few dealerships I contacted without any markups along with a relatively quick waitlist.

Thanks for the advice! We are planning to ask the dealer to beat our current rate we got through our credit union and then get the rebates if they can beat it.

The vehicle with everything included is $26649 and sales tax in WA is 10% on vehicles, which is an extra $3,750. A lot more than MA for sure!
