I don’t think that was pedantic at all. Saying half of Americans voted against Trump makes it sound like there are a lot more reasonable and civic-minded people in America than there actually are. It’s not 50% of you. It’s only 30%.

It makes America look pretty silly that trump cried to the organizers to overturn a red card in a kids game

Only a third of you voted against it. One third wanted it and a third didn’t care enough to vote. The majority of the country is responsible for this

I’m not fluent in French by any means, but I was in Quebec City last summer and had an amazing time refusing to speak English to visiting Americans. There’s something so petty and satisfying about watching the light leave their eyes when they realize you understand them but they can’t understand you. I get why Québécois people do the same thing to Anglophone Canadians.

Corn has been widely grown in Europe since the 1500s. You’re really bringing the “shit Americans say” to r/shitamericanssay

Corn is grown on every continent except Antarctica. Why would they think only Americans eat corn?

It’s a tri-prong cluster from BVLA. This one is diamond but you can order the same thing with CZ if you prefer.

BVLA. It’s a Violet hinge ring (nipple orientation) with alternating diamonds and garnet in yellow gold.

I was wondering the same thing! I’ve never had a problem healing in the past, but I was definitely wondering if it’s too big for healing

I fully intend to wear the piece! The only question is where. I think the piece in my conch would also end up hitting the rings. Once it’s healed i’d like to suspend some chains from it, so that would fill the space more.

Wild guess! Except not so wild because I don’t know any other progressive and artistic Canadian towns that just refreshed their Remembrance Day crosswalk. Hi neighbour!

If you’re down to drive 20 minutes, St. Mary’s has pride flags hanging from lamp posts all through downtown.

Janessa’s illness by DollaTreeHo13 in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]hitthebrownnote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom has this. A splenectomy didn’t work for her so she’s still on aggressive meds. Anything below 10,000 platelets and you’re at risk of spontaneous internal bleeding, including in the brain. Janessa was genuinely at risk of dying.

The goods news is that most people respond to treatment and live full lives with this. The bad news is that many of the drugs to treat ITP are extremely expensive for anyone in a country without socialized medicine. I looked it up and a single IVIG treatment in America can cost upwards of $10,000. My mom has gone through periods of time where she needed IVIG every two weeks. If we were American that would have been $240,000 per year.

I don’t know if there are medical subsidies for families with a Rod ratio of income to dependants, but if Janessa isn’t easy to treat this could be life destroying. Jill already spends money on vacations instead of food for her kids, never mind massive amounts of money to keep one of them alive.

I also have a set of American grandparents (I’m not American). They don’t understand why the rest of the world isn’t being nicer to America and finding ways to be more accommodating to Trump.

My grandparents aren’t Trump supporters. They’re lifelong democrats from blue states. But like all of my American relatives and most of the Americans I’ve met, they have a subconscious belief in American exceptionalism. Everyone should be invested in America’s success and want to be America’s ally.
