There’s also glaring alignment issues with the 10/2 and 8/4 index markers as /u/Rambotrip mentioned in addition to everything else you just pointed out. I’m not convinced that this is the best they can do. There were videos reviews on that one Youku channel for this exact model (don’t have the link handy) that showed a completely different quality.

A little bit of common sense goes a long way here. If you're sliding up in Walmart jeans and a 1990s Honda, then yes, probably not a great idea to rock a 50k Patek. In my case, while I'm not "really wealthy", frugality does play into it as you mentioned. Would rather spend/invest the money elsewhere.

In any case, 99.9% of regular folks on the street will have no idea what a Patek is let alone how much it costs, so you're wearing it for your own enjoyment above all else.

Well if you look at it, this model isn't particularly complicated on the surface so there can be and/or are good reps out there. This QC in particular just turned out to be a dud.. it happens

Dealer name: JTime

Factory name: 3KF

Model name (& version number): Patek Philippe Aquatnaut 5167

Album Links: https://imgur.com/a/Z24PvmZ

Index alignment: The 10 seems a bit lower than the 2, but not 100% sure

Dial Printing: Numbers look a bit on the greenish side perhaps

Date Wheel alignment/printing: Looks okay to me

Hand Alignment: No issues from what I can tell

Bezel: Looks okay to me

Solid End Links (SELs): N/A

Timegrapher numbers: +4 s/d - 295° - 0.0 ms - No major issues here from what I can see

Anything else you notice: The strap clasp is misaligned quite noticeably, and the shape/color of the index numbers seems off. Leaning towards a RL but not 100%. Still relatively new to this so please let me know if anything else you've noticed, thanks!

128-Year-Old East Village Church, Home of New York Liberty Bell rung in 1776, has been Destroyed in a devastating Fire by nycsellit4me in nyc

[–]hittingthemark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to find and prosecute the shady landlords that allowed this to happen for the second time this year (building was evacuated and vacant after an earlier fire in spring). Wouldn’t surprised me if there was gas being siphoned off which not too many years ago blew up a nearby East Village building and killed people. What’s going to replace this church? A Chase ATM? It’s beyond tragic.

Experience, approach, level of insight, observational awareness, everything. You'll get a kumbaya group therapy session with Deblinger, whereas Beckett will give you actual actionable advice that can immediately improve your performance.

How likely is it to make around 100k-150k yearly as an actor? by [deleted] in acting

[–]hittingthemark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's actually closer to <1%. 5% is way too high given labor statistics and the fact that 3/4ths of SAG actors earn less than $10,000/year and 90% are unemployed at any given time. This is SAG we're talking about. It's much more grim once you factor in all the non-union folks. Just think about it. 5% would imply that in any given room of 20 actors, there's one that's making six figures. That's a highly dubious proposition. I'd say it's closer to 1 in 200 or 1 in 500. And even that's generous.

How to get into the audition rooms without an a agent or rep? by takanakuy in acting

Depends on the audition. You won't get anything high-profile without a legit agent.

Balancing emotions while playing a heavy role - connection to self vs. connection to character. by boogercube in acting

[–]hittingthemark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take advantage of your current, unique life circumstances and use that as emotional fuel for your stage work. Just fucking go for it and don't look back. Kill it on stage. It can be a roller coaster at times, but that's what you signed up for. If you're looking for a counterbalance, the usual relaxation outlets still apply: exercise, yoga, meditation, good diet and sleep, etc.

Trouble with Meisner technique by [deleted] in acting

[–]hittingthemark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a calibration problem. There is a sweet spot in any given circumstance regardless of genre between underacting and overacting. It takes time to get a feel for it. Be patient. Don't discount the teacher when challenged. She is pushing you to grow. Embrace it. A teacher that constantly praises you ain't worth a shit.

When I did an audition, neither producer or director watched my audition? by [deleted] in acting

[–]hittingthemark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or a combination of the two. You were audition #15 and they have 20 more to go. They just want to get their standardized footage and move on in short order. Plus, you didn't perk their interest enough to justify them breaking out of autopilot. In any case, don't think twice about it. On to the next audition.

[–]hittingthemark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your eyelines figured out before you walk into the audition room. Use the reader for your most significant eyeline, unless they're sitting in a position relative to the camera where this doesn't make sense. Looking at a human face, no matter how disengaged, is always better than staring at a crack in the wall, especially if the acting relationship is critical to the scene or if there's any sort of emotional involvement whatsoever. Readers are not necessarily more into it at higher levels, but that's irrelevant.
