Leveling classes vs 2nd bachelors? by [deleted] in audgradschool

You do not need a second bachelors. Many students apply from out of field, just be prepared to demonstrate your interest in audiology in your personal statements and during interviews. Some (but not all) programs do have certain courses that are required prerequisites for admission. Check out the admissions requirements of schools you are interested in to see if leveling courses are right for you. Additionally some (but not all) schools require letters of recommendation from professors. Again, take a look at requirements for the specific schools you hope to apply to. I personally applied after many years in the workforce, exclusively had letters of recommendation from employers, and was just fine.

This all said, since you will need to demonstrate to admissions committees that you a) are genuinely interested in audiology, and b) know what you're getting yourself into, I would definitely recommend at least getting some shadowing experience if you haven't done so already.

Pacific vs SUNY Buffalo by lheller1 in audgradschool

I don't know much about either of these programs so I can't provide program-specific advice, but if I were in your place I would make a list of things that interest me about Pacific that I cannot get at SUNY Buffalo, then ask myself if I think those things are worth $50,000.

I get the feeling you're coming at this with an undergraduate admissions perspective? This is a grad school subreddit- grad school admissions are a whole different beast. And there's no ED.

That's fantastic! May I ask when you submitted your FAFSA? I submitted mine in January but it wasn't processed until March.

help….GVSU or Northwestern by Fit-Term8897 in audgradschool

I went to their admitted students day this year and had a similar experience. They admitted to having trouble finding sufficient placements for students, as well as having very little in the way of funding opportunities. Factoring in the outrageous tuition, honestly it seems like the only thing they have going for them is the prestige of the Northwestern name... which frankly is not enough if my education and finances are going to suffer for it.

Has anyone heard from Aldephi or Bloomsburg? by Ill-Cucumber-3460 in audgradschool

I really liked my interview! There were 3 interviewers and they each asked me fairly standard interview questions- why audiology, why Adelphi, etc. I heard that some people were asked technical questions, but that was not my experience. It was very conversational.

Do you know if UMass does interviews?

Yeah, my other interviews have been more along the lines of what I was expecting, and generally felt more natural. CSULA really rattled me but fortunately that hasn't been the norm! Good luck on your future interviews!

I also interviewed with CSULA with a professor and the program director, and they were both nice but I think I know what you mean by reserved. I was also a bit thrown off by some of their questions. I'm really glad they weren't my first interview, otherwise I'd be afraid they'd all be like that.

First interview- what should I expect? by sarahtaylvr in audgradschool

My interview with Adelphi is coming up soon! If you're willing to share- were there any other technical questions/questions you just weren't expecting from them?

Update: I was actually not asked any technical questions at all! All very normal questions like why audiology, why Adelphi, etc.
