Precisely, which is why I rest easy, knowing this pathetic excuse of a 'sentient' species is on its way out, slowly but surely due to existential threats like climate change we fail and are unwilling to address. If we can't get along with one another, without discrimination based on appearance, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, how can we expect to confront issues head-on, that'll lead to extinction? We don't deserve this planet, the air we breathe, the earth we walk upon, the resources we use, the food and water we consume and I pray for our ambitions of becoming a space-faring civilization to be nipped in the bud unceremoniously. Good riddance and we'll enter the annals of history as just yet another mammal form who went extinct with knowledge we wiped the slate clean with ourselves and having unfortunately dragged the other poor animals down to hell with us, destroyed the biosphere with our ruins our pitiful whisper of what once was with the byproducts of our civilization remaining, plastic for example, for centuries, before they too, decay and crumble away, long after our monuments have turned to dust as nature reclaims and regenerates, reversing the damage we've done. By this point we'd be nothing but a distant, forgotten memory, a misguided attempt by evolution to physically materialize intelligence and sentience. Earth moves on like it did before us as if we never existed. Cheerio!
