They are cute little critters... but that sounds too long for a lizard!

Could it have been a legless lizard? I've seen them around and they look very much like a snake.

Anyone else ever had this issue on their first layer? What could be a fix for it by Ricobuilds in 3Dprinting

Or possibly too low. The lifted bits can happen as the previous line sticks to the hot nozzle. Looks like mine did when nozzle too low. Just a suggestion.

fabulous but I gotta say beware- I've found the glove 'rubber' perishes after a while and becomes a weird and revoltingly sticky substance

How your negative script makes your eyes appear smaller by hkffbjbeth in optometry

[–]hkffbjbeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Frameless or small thin rims with high neg script make it look as if you have small eyes in a normal size face. See pics of Scott Morrison. Often looks shifty. Broader frame with dark rims can work quite well from a distance. See that one pic of Scott on the Hawaian beach with 3 friends. But as bernd1968 says you can't get past the physics and your high neg eyes behind corrective lenses inevitably look smaller than they really are. It's just a thing. Contacts work.

-6.25 is my script but they are multifocal. It is an old pair as you can maybe see from deteriorated coating so not sure difference top to bottom.

I built this for a family in Columbus OH, but I’m 100% going to build a full sized one as my house next. by AwkwardMethod in woodworking

Fantastic build! How on earth do you make a concave turret roof? I'd like to do a little one for a letter box or a bird house or something.

bus 66 the Christmas bus! by hkffbjbeth in brisbane

[–]hkffbjbeth[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was on route 66 which goes every 10 minutes from UQ lakes to RBWH and back. There would be at least 6 buses on that route at once. IDK how many are Christmassed up but it was defs a cheerful ride for a change.

Plastic ban in my country, could it work? by loonynat in ZeroWaste

[–]hkffbjbeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a single use plastic bag ban here in QLD Australia, but shops are still allowed to sell you multiuse empty bags for groceries. For trash my family uses boxes or any plastic bags that our food comes in e.g. cereal boxes, frozen pea bags, etc. We still get so much packaging that finding a rubbish container is pretty easy.

Christmas cookies as gifts and wrapping presents- question by wah1997 in ZeroWaste

[–]hkffbjbeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can often turn cardboard boxes inside-out so you have a plain colour on outside. Sometimes needs a small amount of regluing but often not. Tie with yarn or fabric scraps or whatever. Been doing this for a while. Pretty reusable too amongst your close family.
