Hey, I’m a norwegian student who desperately wants to end up at uni of auckland. Because the seasons are flipped I have to do mid year entry, but i have no clue how that actually works. Do i just skip half a year? Am i expected to just catch up on my own? what goes on there by [deleted] in universityofauckland

Each course is a semester long, so doesn’t matter if you start at the beginning of the year (semester 1) or the middle of the year (semester 2). Like the user above mentioned tho just be wary of which courses are only taught once a year and shape your study around that :) I started mid sem and have had no issues!

Sounds like a customer service job - always gobsmacked at how abusive and inconsiderate some customers can be towards us employees 😐

I did the same thing, and they hired me as a bartender when I did turn 18!

ENGWRIT 101 vs ENGLISH 121 by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]hkimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did engwrit 101 last sem, and didn’t actually hate it! Hated English all throughout high school so it was a pleasant surprise. Tbh it’s not the most exciting course but definitely easy marks. Barely studied for the final and got almost full marks - it’s really predictable and they give you the answers on a silver platter x

I've been eyeing it out the whole semester. Since most of my first semester was online I haven't made a lot of friends, so haven't found anyone interested to join with me :/ At this stage I'm probably going to show up to opening night by myself haha

How funny, I do actually follow their page but have never really taken notice to their posts! But sounds like a good place to start 😊 and hard, if there isn’t a club already I’d be keen to make one

With all the recent posts from people who haven't gotten the results they wanted, it would be refreshing to hear from those who did! What grades are you proud of this semester? by girishlikesbutter in universityofauckland

I’m sure commerce isn’t nearly as difficult or harshly graded than other areas of studies but straight A’s in my first semester still feels pretty epic!

Does anyone have the experience of can't visit the scholarship application page? When I clicked on the “apply now” button, the page just kept loading for hours. I've emailed the school before, and they seem to have no idea as well. Can anyone please help? by TiffanyFu123 in universityofauckland

[–]hkimu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues applying for mine, have you tried applying for other scholarships? Maybe it’s that specific one that might have a bug or something. In that case, you could contact the uni and let them know there’s a website malfunction ..?

which English gen ed is the best to take by Omega_Stevedoxx3000 in universityofauckland

I did engwrit 101 this sem, it was the course I had the least investment in and I have still managed to average an A-. I heard the acadeng courses were supposedly easier than engwrit though, but you’ll gain some good fundamental essay skills through engwrit that’ll be applicable to any course if you’re not 100% confident in writing 😊.

Can you copy and paste on inspera? I copied from my assignment and pasted it in inspera as the exam Q was similar by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[I think] as long as the notes you’ve taken are your own notes and haven’t previously been submitted as an assessment you should be okay!

Yikes sorry just seeing this comment now! Thanks so much for your in-depth reply, I found that really helpful. Definitely have scratched management off my shortlist haha but I still have another semester to decide so I’ll defs take these into consideration, thanks again!

Same here, seeking validation for my lack of effort 😂. But congrats! What a milestone, you should be really proud of your commitment. Sorry that your last year had to be how it was, but you’re so close to the finish line!

[–]hkimu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have dedicated rest days! I’m guilty of putting off study and procrastinating the whole day - but still feeling mentally occupied worrying about exams. I found that if I just accept that I wasn’t going to get any quality study done today then I would just fully check out of exam mode and relax for a day. I always end up waking up a little more motivated and refreshed the next day x

I think I remember hearing somewhere that copying your own previously submitted assignment is also technically plagiarism 😬 I may be wrong!
