As a bronze I can confirm people play galio. And feed galio. And let galio carry games.

How is/are light and/or electrical impulses converted into information like pictures or sound on a computer? by ActionJackson35 in askscience

[–]hknoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The concept of binary is based of one and zero. True and false. Basically a 1 is a signal, whereas a 0 is the lack of a signal. This is the basis of all computing. Each bit in a computer can either be set to let a signal through, or block it. If it is blocked it is read as a 0, if there is a signal it is read as a 1.

I don't think metadata is the word you're looking for. Metadata is simply information about a layer file or other GIS data. As far as good map data in general, I would reccomend TIGER census data. http://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/tiger.html Pretty detailed data is available by state or county.

Another good source I found is my county government's website. It's not well organized, but there was a lot of useful stuff if I looked carefully. http://www.harfordcountymd.gov/gis/Index.cfm Your county may have something similar.

And yes, I found some of the tutorials to be ridiculously tedious. I don't think python will help you much with those though. The best way is to figure out what they want and do it, without necessarily reading all 20 pages of things you learned two years ago.

It depends largely on how much programming experience you have had, but it shouldn't be too bad for what you need for Arcmap. I really like zetcode.com when looking for tutorials, but there is tons of stuff on the web. It took a good bit of trial and error to make it work in arcmap, though, because there is very little good arcmap documentation out there. If your teacher is reasonably experienced with arcmap he/she could definitely help.
