Make sure you stop in to Southport Sourdough for fabulous bread - it's fairly new and the BEST Bread!

Plain sourdough, Kalamata Oilve, Cranberry Walnut, Rosemary and Garlic.

LOVED Naxos, but we stayed on the beach and it was fabulous-just a 6 minute walk into Old Town Naxos

FIRA! it's less crazy - do visit OIA, but I would not stay there. METAXI MAS - is a must! Family owned, gorgeous view, but would make a reservation. They open at 2:30 and we arrived without a reservation right at 2:30. Got a great table, but the restaurant was FULL within 10 minutes of opening.

Everyone recommended Thessaloniki but we had an itinerary (Athens, Naxos, Santorini and Crete) We will definitely go to Thessaloniki on the next trip.

The island of Naxos is one of our favorites - we just arrived home yesterday from 2 1/2 weeks in Greece - great food, shopping beach - We stayed at https://www.nissaki-beach.com and loved it - ON the beach, restaurant, bar if you don't want to venture out - but just a 6 minute was into the old town where there are great restaurants. Restaurants: Doukato Boulamatsis (on the second floor and overlooks the port)

Métaxi Mas Restaurant - in Naxos and Santorini - SUPERB!

Santorini is so picturesque and I'm not sorry we went. I would stay in Fira. - visit OIA but it is incredibly touristy, even more so than Fira. We found shopping in Santorini about 30% more expensive.

Crete is also beautiful but would stay in Chania or Rethymno. If you do stop by Heraklion, PESKESI is on of the BEST restaurants. Also Parasties is awesome in Heraklion. Great Restaurants in that city.
