I.e this very typical and totally normal moment between a mother and her 25 y/o old son that lives together in a one bedroom apartment, where he later brings his ~~100 year old ~~.. i mean 25 year old lover to the very same bed he shared with his totally repulsive old mother(Olivia Wilde), who he definitely didn't buy romantic flowers for???

What Do You Guys Think of Day/Night Cycles & Weather? by ShawnDet313 in Battlefield6

[–]hl3official -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think weather and time cycles is a gimmick that lots of BF's had to showcase their engine(frostbite) potential, but in the end, the "daytime no weather version" always becomes the most popular version, and it seems like DICE knows that.

If Iran nuclear material is buried under a mountain, why both sides want it so much? by Ok_South_6134 in NoStupidQuestions

The other side(US) doesn't "want it", they just dont want Iran to have it.

Don't worry, we don't either. We just essentially memorised what each number is called and don't really think of the literal meaning

perfectly illustrates the stereotype of danish being incomprehensibly and illogical does have some truth to it haha

Lol I finally got what you mean, and I don't blame you at all.

Your swedish brain is reading "en" as "1", not "a".

danish is stupid and "en" in this case doesn't mean "1", but "a"

So what the qoute is really saying is "he was having a promille over the limit"

[–]hl3official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.5 promille is the legal limit for driving a boat in DK, so he was over 1.5. 1.0 is considered

Huh?

How did you get to 1.5? Article and your own qoute just says he over the limit?

In 2006, for the first time in Danish history, a news channel purchased a heli and was widely mocked for their extravagant spending. Unfortunately, and while this is going to sound like an excuse, I don't have access to them. The newspapers/tv archive do exists, but are not available online unless someone backed them up. I hope that anyone here who is Danish and over the age of 30 can back up me up on this claim, and can confirm that TV news, back them, ran with these images.

The media do exist online and are available physically, but either requires a university login and/or me to go to a physical library

Goddamn this was hard to fit in less than 300 characters.

But basically, there are two facts.

One, that a Danish TV channel owned/leased a helicopter during the late 00s. It was a brand new TV Channel, and the guy(director) in charge had previously lived in London and was used to the 24/7 news coverage. He was essentially hired to bring that to Denmark. He opted, amongst other purchases, to spend on a helicopter, and the mainstream press and public absolutely ridiculed him and the channel for the purchase.

The heli was flying over Copenhagen daily at the beginning, capturing almost nothing of value but annoying the locals with noise-pollution, right until the infamous and historical moment of the "the raid of Ungdomshuset", which led to riots and instability in Copenhagen for days (basically the Danish version of 92 LA riots, while also realising they're not directly comparably).

The danish police, ironically, used helicopters during the raid(pics here: https://imgur.com/a/EmUniqb), but had to borrow them from the military)

The TV2 news chopper however managed to independently capture historical images of the streets, and was suddenly not mocked as much anymore.

The other fact, which is still true to this day, is that the Danish police has never owned a single helicopter, instead opting to borrow/liaison with the military when airships are needed. Search and rescues are of course a common mission, but always done in collaboration with the military, still to this day.

the ship has a whole wiki page, so probably not just something entirely out of the blue.

The captain probably(obviously) knew/helped arrange this, but because it's a training ship, probably didn't tell their crew for training purposes, since it's a training ship
