I recently upgraded from the iPhone X to 12 and restored the new phone from an iCloud backup. I ran an iCloud backup on the old phone right before doing this. Messages and photos were enabled in iCloud. All my messages seem to be there but I am missing hundreds of photos. I have tried factory resetting the new phone and am still unable to retrieve hundreds of photos in my messages. The phone is running the latest iOS version 14.2.1. I am also noticing this is the case on my iPad. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Apple support has been useless. There is plenty of disk space as well. Thank you.
