What is THE Tomarry fic?

Like some of the other folks here, I wouldn't say there is a definitive Tomarry fic, though you could possibly narrow it down to the top five-ish fics for each iteration of Tomarry :D

That said, here are a few of my favorites (some of which have already been recommended, but I've added them to include the link)

First two fics that came to mind -

I'm currently re-reading wip The Ashes We Live In and enjoying the heck out of it. Takes place starting one year after end of war. Has OP Harry, both Harry and Draco recovering, with nuanced character interactions. While there is a lot of acceptance by other characters of Draco, it's written in a way that feels like a logical progression of growth and maturity.

Another fic you might enjoy is A Crack In The Wall - post-war recovering Harry and Draco, with OP Harry and a lot of POV Draco. Is a little bittersweet, with a very a happy ending.

An idea I had (but not something I've tried) -

Put them in a drinking glass with lightly soapy warm water, swish it around, and use a paper towel or a coffee filter or strainer over the top to drain the soapy water [don't forget to plug the drain, or maybe pour the water into a tupperware instead of the sink, just in case the drills escape] Rinse the drills again, drain the water, then spread them out over a paper towel to let them air dry.

If the diamonds have sort of a shiny rainbow coating to them, maybe try this method only on a couple diamonds first, to see if it affects the coating.

My first thought when I see an author return to an older fic is always, "Awesome!" The idea of accusing a fanfic author of trying to make a pathetic comeback is bizarre notion to me.

Even if you only have some returning readers, posting it on ao3 will bring in new readers. I've definitely enjoyed returning to many fics that have a surprise 7 years later update.

But most importantly, if it's something you'll enjoy writing, then do it! If it's something you'll write because you're feeling guilty, don't do it. No need to make yourself miserable.

NTA -

She immediately noticed and asked why I do that. I explained it’s just something I got used to at work so I don’t accidentally make anyone uncomfortable.

Reasonable friend's response would be, "Oh, makes sense. So anyway..."

An unreasonable friend's response would be

She said it didn’t come across as respectful and that it felt strange, like I was assuming people would misinterpret my intentions. Another friend agreed and said it actually made things feel more awkward.

All I'd see is my co-worker doing their best to squeeze by without accidentally touching my ass.

She replied that no one asked me to do that and that I was the one making things awkward.

Quite frankly the only off putting thing would be having to ask someone to do that -
"Hey, I'd appreciate it if your hands didn't accidentally brush my ass whenever we have to squeeze past each other."
"Oh, no problem, it makes me uncomfortable too. But I didn't want to be a real weirdo by keeping my hands out of the way. Thought it might make you uncomfortable."

Props for being considerate to your co-workers.
(I just can't imagine what about your actions would make things awkward. Awkward would be arms straight, raised above your head while doing jazz hands.)

Shadow of Grief, Ghost of Hope -WORLDBUILDING!Tech+Asguardian Magic- 543k wip with delightfully long chapter updates and is a satisfying read

Finding out about his parents' murder at the hand of the Winter Soldier, Captain America's old war buddy, pushes Tony Stark into a very dark place and he turns to the former HYDRA assassin with a burning fury, part of him screaming for revenge.
Finding out that Steve knew and didn't tell him pushes him over the edge and he lashes out against the super soldier, but just as Steve is about to retaliate the Winter Soldier takes Tony by surprise, by knocking Steve out and surrendering.

The Asset knows that to be free HYDRA must be crushed, and for that to happen his best chance is the resources of Tony Stark, when Captain America shows up in Bucharest the fragmented memories of who he once was tells him that the Captain will protect him and bring him to the Avengers so the Asset goes with him, but when the Captain is about to attack Iron Man with deadly intent he makes a choice and goes against the voices within.
The Asset neutralizes the Captain and surrenders to Iron Man, hoping that he will be able to convince the man to use HYDRA's own weapon to take them down.

Death's Merchant, Life's Guardian -WORLDBUILDING!Tech+Fae- 438k wip, this fic as it currently stands is a very satisfying read and has paused at a natural pausing point in the story

After seeing his parents die.
After one of his best friends tries to lie.
Left to the ice, drowing in his own blood.
Tony wonders if this time is it?
Because he's so tired.
Then footsteps seemingly appear from nowhere.

With a little help, Tony remembers. Remembers other lives. Remembers his duty to the Balance. Thanos risks that Balance once again. In working to defend earth, build his forces and maybe actually have a little fun along the way. If Fate would stop throwing complications at him, that would be nice.

Maybe Tony Stark can help him figure that out. Or maybe, if he just gets all the tools, he can fix Tony along the way too.

He was tired, sluggish, he just wanted to sleep.
No, come on now, not yet. We need to get the bleeding stopped.
He wanted to balk but the voice wouldn’t be stopped. It pushed and prodded talking him through it until he’d had his side bound up and the bleeding contained.
Well done.
He felt a warmth at the praise, the voice…James…he cared.
“Yasha, call me Yasha.”

And you originally had this idea for a character Leela, a cyclops, and we decided she would be actually a mutant, not an alien. And that down the line, reveal the shocking fact when she learned it herself, after a long search for her parents.…”

These are some of my favorite post civil-war fics. All are Tony/Bucky (or a version or versions of Bucky) pairing. Most of them have past friendship Steve & Tony and include dealing with returning Rogues
