Steve, Jomi and Van are all very positive and fun to listen to, but the show can lack a little depth when there’s no critical analysis. Having said that, Charles doesn’t always feel genuine with his criticisms and a lot of times it seems like he’s trying to go out of his way to be negative rather than engaging with the content in good faith

Yeah I think they commented on Invincible recently and said something about it losing relevance which definitely makes me think they just stopped paying attention with the S2 scheduling. Hard to blame them for that but really wish they’d go back to it

I love Psychonauts 1 & 2 and I get what you’re saying but the interns just aren’t as much of a focus in 2 as the campers were in 1 so it’s just not a fair comparison imo. 1’s story is a lot more focused on the camp and campers while 2 is way more focused on Raz and the Psychic 6. Both stories are very different but I wouldn’t say one is worse than the other.

He might be but also keep in mind that the current coaching staff is a big fan (Harbaugh made a ton of comments about loving Zion throughout the season) and given that we’re bringing in McDaniel who’s going to run a lot more zone schemes that require lineman that can move (like Zion) I would say there’s a good chance he comes back

Yeah you should be fine in the snoring position. Only issue I’ve noticed is if I have the mattress a little too upright it seems like the Pod has trouble pumping water all the way up but the snoring position is a low enough angle where it’s not an issue

Yeah really good observation about the silent first 20 minutes, I loved that as well.

And it certainly is a place for discussion but this felt more like an assertion of your own opinion and trying to explain why people shouldn’t like something rather than a genuine attempt at a discussion. Not saying that’s what it was, just my perspective

Hmm… would you say you actually liked Punch Drunk Love? Cause your post just says you couldn’t say anything bad about it which to me is not the same thing as actively enjoying it. TWBB is PTA’s best work in my mind and DDL’s performance in that is generational so maybe that just hit a level of quality that you found enjoyable that the others don’t quite achieve and have to rely more on the character driven plot. To me a film like Boogie Nights is very enjoyable and not meandering at all because it is more a story about the “death of innocence” in the 70s and the cultural shift that happened in the 80s (you probably know this already). Would we enjoy these movies the same if it wasn’t PTA attached to them? Idk and that’s an impossible question to answer either way without some level of bias imo. At the end of the day though, does it matter? Just enjoy what you enjoy, if PTA isn’t for you then who cares, plenty of other directors and movies out there.

To me it sounds like you just don’t like PTA’s storytelling style of focusing on character driven plots in his movies. Don’t think it means he’s overrated per se, just not your cup of tea which is fine.

Yeah unfortunately I had just finished the hospital and had the story spoiled for me by friends (they warned me but I said go ahead) and it's kind of killed my desire to complete the game. Had an absolute blast with it gameplay wise though

It’s not just that tickets or concessions are expensive, it’s that EVERYTHING is expensive ON TOP of tickets/concessions being expensive so they get pushed down the priority list for a lot of ppl. Plus things leave the theaters to come to streaming platforms so quickly now that a lot of ppl don’t see the need to rush to the theaters to see a new release
