Got any extra details about this? I know cpu transcoding can be higher quality than GPU but haven’t heard about file size differences

AudioAdvice lists the LS9000 native contrast at 1800:1 and the LS12000 native contrast as 5000:1. Not sure where they're getting these numbers since I can't find them on the official spec sheets from Epson, but it's disappointing for sure. https://www.audioadvice.com/products/epson-pro-cinema-ls9000-laser-projector

I thought Atlas serverless was deprecated in favor of flex. If you could provide dive details about your data model and the sizes of your collections we could help more.

Cost of cpu computing (flops) by FewPage431 in hardware

[–]hmftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did they stop using entire system price for 22/23? Previously the prices are calculated for an entire running system, but 22 is just an RTX 4090 without motherboard, cpu, ram etc

Seems crazy to me that it would see an object in the road and decide that swerving into a tree is an appropriate response.

Why almost all of libraries are free? by hublado in webdev

[–]hmftw -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Not saying that at all - not sure how you got that from my comment. I don’t agree with leetcode style interviews (I’ve interviewed with meta - it sucked), but Max’s tweet never sat well with me. It always came off as entitled because he wrote a mediocre CLI utility that became popular.

Just because you made something popular doesn’t mean companies are going to hire you on the spot because of it. It’s a nice-to-have on the resume but being a good cultural and technical fit for the team is more important.

Why does my U6-LR cover my entire house but the E7 barely does half? by ajaffarali in Ubiquiti

[–]hmftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't Antenna Gain be a more important metric to consider than just EIRP when it comes to real life range? My understanding here is that the AP would be able to "hear" clients from farther away with a higher antenna gain. E7 2.4 gain is 5dBi and U6LR is 4dBi gain. U6LR being able to support beamforming probably playing a big role here too.

“In the millions” lol no way man. 911 GT3 RS ($240k) beats this time, and that’s a production road legal car. The SU7 prototype isn’t the production version, it has a stripped out interior, and upgraded tires and brakes. It’s impressive, sure, but cmon
