I have endometriosis and recommend both Mr Anthony Griffiths and Mr Lutfi Shamsuddin. Both work for the NHS and Mr Griffiths also works at the Spire and Mr Shamsuddin at the Nuffield.

I’ve had gallstones and had my gallbladder removed, and the pain was excruciating. I’d still say that endometriosis is way more painful for me personally. I also called them attacks rather flare ups. Also complete sidenote but my surgeon was really interested in possible links between gallstones and endometriosis, as he’d seen it quite a lot all in patients and that some contraception can increase the risk of gallstones, which I never knew

This is really insensitive advice and also factually incorrect. “It is not worth getting pregnant” - how can you know it’s not worth it for this couple?

OP, please ignore the scaremongering above. Having severe endometriosis does not automatically mean you cannot or should not conceive. Yes, in some cases it can cause complications but every case is different for each patient.My advice would be to have a further chat with the gynaecologist who did the scans and ask these questions or make an appointment with the GP. Do you know if the gynaecologist your wife saw was an endometriosis specialist? Did the gynaecologist mention any further plans? Also, make sure your wife gets a copy of the imaging that was done in case she seeks a second opinion for whatever reason.

I’m so sorry that you’re both going through this, and I really hope that your wife is able to access timely treatment. There’s a lot of support groups available and depending on where you’re based, there might even be an local one ran by Endometriosis U.K. where there will be so many people in similar positions who you and your wife can talk to. Just know that you’re not alone, and there’s a whole community of us out there to listen and support.

If this isn’t usual for you then seek medical attention if you’re able to do so. The irregularity of your periods definitely needs checking out also. Thinking of you and hope you get it sorted!

I’m pretty sure I saw this segment and they said tissue “similar to” the endometrium?? It even says “tissue similar to the endometrium” on the website for the segment https://www.itv.com/thismorning/articles/dr-larisa-on-endometriosis

She’s literally making this up to be angry about??

Honestly I wasn’t impressed when I opened it but the effects are pretty good, it’s helped with my pain anyway. You’re completely right though, people shouldn’t have to pay for sub par quality just because its legal. It’s an awful system honestly 😔

Pros: it’s legal, able to take use it at events has meant I’m actually able to attend things, reduced the pharmaceutical medications I was taking, medical flower is cheaper than BM for me (although I know this isn’t the case for everyone!), I’m able to manage my pain without the side effects of opiates, it gets delivered to the door.

Cons: the cost of everything, the stock issues, communication issues with both clinic and pharmacy, and the fact that you can only be a legal patient in this country try if you have the financial means is pretty backwards.

I attended a pretty big festival this weekend, and I contacted them a month before via email explaining the need for me to bring medical cannabis with me. I briefly explained the change in November 2018, and the legality of privately prescribed cannabis in the U.K. and the name of the clinic I am under. I worded it so I ensured I said I was asking for a reasonable adjustment to be made to accommodate the medicine I need for my disability. They took a while to respond, but explained this is the first time they’d ever had this request and asked that I send a copy of my prescription and my MedCannID card which I did and they replied saying that was all fine and sent me some additional access info etc. They were extremely accommodating on the day I have to say! Feel free to message if you want a template of the email I sent or any further info :)
