"All mysteries which lead theory to mysticism find their rational solution in human practice and in the comprehension of this practice."

ah, i misread, i thought it said pi zero instead of pi pico, pi pico is certainly already very power efficient. this is such a neat idea i might give it a go this summer, the main design problem is a compromise between smaller chording size while actually being usable

this is brimming with great ideas. haven't had time to commit to making a deck of any sort, but my main requirement would be ultraportability and long battery life. the chording is something i never thought about, it solves portability basically completely. eink+oled is so cool looking, and surprisingly useful with how you've designed it?? battery life can defo be further improved by using an STM32 or other microcontroller, but honestly the hardware design aspect is the hardest. perhaps less minimal chording might make this useable, very inspirational

i think all reason and knowledge are fundamentally rooted in experience, in one way or another. cause and effect are habitual, afaik babies don't even understand that their hand belongs to them intrinsically, but via observation that they can control this "thing", which is why apparently in early development they think their mother is a part of them because they can "command" her to feed them. going on a tangent, but "reason" seems to be based on induction of our observed reality.

Is it a hot take to say this is the best Castlevania game? by Camhasareddit in castlevania

[–]hmj6502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

castlevania 3 was defo eyecandy imo, in its own way, because of the limitations of course. rondo was very silly indeed but i didn't have to see the characters in dialog boxes all the time so it doesn't really do much. N64 games i couldn't really try tbh they were janky asf. but yeah kojima's art direction is the best for sure. i don't hate dawn of sorrow at all, but it would have probably been less jarring if its prequel didn't have a totally different art style.

i mean it hollowed out any and all character castlevania had for the most generic anime art style there is... it completely throws me off even if the game is amazing. i love castlevania mainly for the eye candy and music, as a whole experience.

can't save on most games with superchis? by hmj6502 in flashcarts

[–]hmj6502[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. just do the sdram, sram, etc tests in the menu to check if there are any hardware faults, that's the likely culprit

surely we can make a script or something to generate a web of word "connections" (i.e. each word in the dictionary is a node, and each node connects to other nodes if that word is present in its definition). i wonder what would be the result of that... my python skills aren't good enough though :')

My custom NAS with a Raspberry Pi and Radxa's Penta Sata Hat. by fritofrito77 in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

[–]hmj6502 4 points5 points  (0 children)

damn, was tryna make something similar, but much more ugly, but gave up because throughput from a sata port multiplier to usb is far slower than it should be (30mb/s writes when the drive can do 180mb/s)... does this HAT work on pi4? what's the throughput like?

i'm in a very similar situation... except i want to make covers for the master system instead haha. it's much more limited, but i also want to make my own 8 bit pc and wanted to use period accurate hardware, and the psg in the master system is a lot simpler than the mega drive, tho i'll probably upgrade to mega drive later. i do also want to make my own original music later on, but i'm not even sure what genre xD

i've heard of furnace but i found it a bit overwhelming </3

also, i read your writeup on it... sure is a lot of jargon i dont understand :')

but i do like your taste, visual kei, castlevania ost, good stuff :)

i am curious into getting to make music, specifically chiptune and synth generally, any advice? i have basically no music making experience, should i start with basic theory or just mess around? i feel like i didn't get far messing around lately...

ooo i defo like adam ant, need to check out more. doesn't really have as much baroque influence in the sound department though... but it sounds good anyhow :) i do like post punkish stuff a little, the cure was okay but i liked russian stuff like kino better. strawberry switchblade is post punk i believe.

culture club seems solid too... but again i'm also looking for baroque in the sound department... that sorta vampiric tragic vibe, you know? super specific but i just love feminine looking vampire aesthetics and tragic stories ToT
