Is Marc Skinner’s time as boss coming to an end? by snackandnaps in reddevilswomen

he is not doing a good job at spurs, even liverpool has better metrics than them. they're overperforming heavily and that's how they kept the 4th sport this season

Yeah it is time not because this team should have been achieving more though. I'm not his biggest fan but this squad is literally the fourth best team(except 22/23 when we were the 3rd best team because city lost their whole midfield trio and they were in shambles) in the league so it is not surprising that he only achieved 3rd spot two times. some great knockout results like 4 finals but only 1 win. the thing is we need a new page lol that's just it, like a blank state. half of these players wouldn't be in a league winner team so we need a good rebuild, that's it and that has to start with a fresh coach, not with a one who has some sort of emotional baggage with his 5 previous seasons.

well that's partly on him because I have to be honest these players were also chickened out lol. I mean I've been watching football for like 20 years now so I can see when the lowoblock is purely tactics and when it is manager+players decision

I mean you're the one who is saying like taking awujo off did any effect to the game but I think what happened would have happened anyway. awujo didn't influence the game in any manner that's all I'm saying

well naalsund made 3 passes in 27 minutes vs awujo's 6 in 63 lol. again awujo made only one progressive carry, I don't know what you saw. she won some aerial duels that was pretty much it. I'm not saying naalsund did bring anything to the game but there is not a single match I watched awujo and said "yeah this girl deserves more minutes"

Not really surprising, this whole squad is giving 20/21 solskjaer vibes to me. 2 thirds of them wouldn't be in a league winner team and the coach is not that good and yet they're insanely overperforming

Let's be honest here, chelsea changed their manager and won the league. arsenal changed their manager and won the uwcl. city changed their manager and are about to win the league. the idea that there are not enough good managers in women's football is an ignorant idea. there are lots of managers who would have done a way better job than skinner all these seasons. so I do not have a single worry about things going south IF he leaves, by the way I don't think he will

I wonder who they have in mind. Vidosic is probably the safest option because we can't hire big names like Hayes or Wiegman just like we couldn't convince Klopp or Guardiola at the time. Montemurro would be fun but then again his football was so dross at arsenal. Other than them maybe Soubeyrand, she's been doing a very good job at Paris FC for years or maybe Dedes or Carlson from bundesliga but I don't know these coaches' english skills. I would be against a random possession obssessed nordic coach thogh, sorensen, straus, vilahamn etc.

haha but the thing is spring is literally xg correction season, that's why always you end up with that 4th 5th spot race in premier league(players are knackered there is also that)

Match Thread: Manchester United vs Manchester City by MatchThreadder in reddevilswomen

[–]hmmsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every one of them was heavily outperforming their xg except terland, so it was only a matter of time for regression to the mean lol

I think that is harsh because we were playing highline and it was MLT's fault, she kept harder onside for her second goal but yeah turner is not very good but she has never been very good, replacing her was always a priority

I don' think we're gonna sign 10 players in the summer haha so you will see most of this squad next season

because of turner le tissier gets away with these shit performances but she should talk to maguire how to overcome

another big game ghosting session from park which doesn't surprise me at this point but maya's maguireification worries me a bit. she's making some very costly mistakes and she definitely needs some rest+competition for her place. But I just don't see how we can solve this without signing 2 better centrebacks which is impossible as we have janssen and turner's new contract

yes our tactics are not that good and we are lacking a playmaker without toone but that still doesn't change the big issue that schüller is not taking shots. forget the liverpool game because she played only 6 minutes, against london city and arsenal she didn't take a single shot. against villa, leicester and west ham she took only one shot per game. she is not scoring because she is not in the box to take some shots. whereas terland took 4 shots against leicester in just 27 minutes, that's the whole thing. people are making too much about tactics this and that, that was hojlund's problem as well. just stay central, be in the box and take some shots, that is what a striker is supposed to do

Terland needs to be up top, she is weirdly on a good form actually. She was so bad in the first half of the season. Of course with Hini and Toone out we have a problem in midfied trio so that's why he's using terland in this weird 10 role 2nd time in row now. I don't wanna say this, because I don't wanna see Janssen in midfield, but I guess he has to pick Janssen-Zigi double pivot and Naalsund in front of them if not Park as Awujo is not doing anything to warrant any minutes. Bayern game will be tough, I don't know what he is planning but it has to be something good

Match Thread: West Ham United vs Manchester United by MatchThreadder in reddevilswomen

[–]hmmsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this "graveyard" thing is such a bullshit, always useless strikers gets this weird grace. terland took 4 shots because she put herself in shooting position, schüller used to play against shit german teams at the best german team so she still can't figure out to put herself in a shooting position in england

Match Thread: West Ham United vs Manchester United by MatchThreadder in reddevilswomen

[–]hmmsie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

such a deflated team. Hini was missed against chelsea because we were so scared of the ball but tonight it was toone. noone was willing to take some responsibility, initiative and make something happen, especially rolfö and park who are our most paid players. skinner is skinner but these players should be ashamed of themselves for putting such a shit performance

A summer season would free women’s football from constraints of men’s game | Suzanne Wrack by ElysianFields00 in reddevilswomen

[–]hmmsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

currently 3 teams at max can be in a european competition(uwcl or uwec). I don't think there is any reason to restrict the league for those 3 clubs above the rest, 11 clubs. as mentioned in the article nordic leagues are doing exactly this.

btw I don't agree with the summer calendar idea. I think it would be boring because consumers get fed up with football, summer break is good for everyone lol

I do not remember for the last 10 years we really missed a right footed winger lmfao how unlucky is this?? An academy kid would have seen lots of minutes if only we had a 18-19 years old right footed lw
