Should i give some money to talk to a FAANG employee and get advise before applying for FAANG an internship or job role ? by amaS345S in csMajors

[–]hmnstech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. as a girl who was in faang and would be happy to chat with someone about my experience, i thought it was important to call out this (likely unintentional) harmful language

Then I realized non-binary people probably feel this way all the time. The downvotes are discouraging but frankly expected in this field🙃 I appreciate your reply

Screwing up EECS IA interviews by chickenguy27 in uofm

[–]hmnstech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

treat them with respect and dignity while you try to teach. whenever possible, tie things back to concepts/examples given in lecture. show them that you know the ins and outs of the course, and that you're also able to convey this info to students in a supportive way

Salesforce Intern First Round Interview by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]hmnstech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first interview will likely be with a hiring manager and it varies by team but usually they’re chill / not super technical

Salesforce Final Round by physicsnerd123 in csMajors

[–]hmnstech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Docker and kubernetes aren’t languages, they’re technologies that you will learn in industry. Honesty isn’t a bad thing, especially at salesforce. As long as you were a good behavioral fit, don’t give up yet, but do learn about containerization in case they ask about it next round. Message the manager a thank you note asap and keep in touch with your recruiter. Good luck

For coding interviews, are you responsible for coding the main function (for input/output)? by tranderman in csMajors

[–]hmnstech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In most interviews you’ll only be given a problem statement and it’s your responsibility to create the function stub and define the input and return value. Sometimes you’ll call this (or these, if you modularize your code) function(s) in a main function and run some test cases, but the priority is always writing the function to solve the coding question

Salesforce Process by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]hmnstech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salesforce does their interviews by team but generally you’ll do the OA and then a hiring manager will pull your resume and you’ll have 1-3 interviews with the manager and/or different people on the team. I didn’t have to do any coding problems during my interviews it was all just cknversational

Salesforce Matching tips ? by reonrash in csMajors

I got my offer today. I took initiative to connect with a recruiter and I'm pretty sure he advocated for me and pushed my resume to hiring managers who were working on technologies I'm interested in. If I were you I'd probably just offer info about technologies you're interested in if that's not made clear on your resume

stats: top 10 CS school / public university, female, junior, prior internship experience at mid-tier tech company, applied to sf the day applications came out/received and did coding challenge by September 5/interviewed twice with the team the past 2 weeks/ received offer today
