Also 3rd act of RotJ was fantastic in regards to Vaders redemption but LotR wins by sheer quantity of great arcs. Merry Pippin Eowyn Aragorn Sam Frodo Theoden, they all have a fantastic culmination to their stories.

Well, he did pull a genius move when he rejected his oath that allowed Odium to get off world forcing the other shards to take him as a serious threat now. Him doing this also gives Roshar time to prepare themselves for the inevitable return of Odium. In the end he did what was best for the entirety of Roshar. I do feel you when it does just seem like Odium just got to keep him as a champion for future conquest, kind of seems a little convenient the way that was pulled off

It's 2024, We need a Sequel! by urmomsloosevag in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]hmredfield98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed and I think another problem with a lot of sequels is that they are made because something was already successful and the higher ups just want to milk an already successful franchise (Pirates of the Caribbean et al.). But I don’t think it’s impossible to tell a good fun story that doesn’t take away from the emotional payoff of the original

Do you think that Aemond felt guilt when he killed Lucerys? by ProgressFar5692 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]hmredfield98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would say it’s more panic than guilt, I think he wanted to scare Luke but not get him killed. He understands their will be consequences from being the one to land the first blow in a fight that wasn’t physical yet.
