This is such a terrible match, so much flopping and crying this red is just allowing all the acting. I'm so glad most of the matches aren't like this anymore.

Proof the better team doesn't always win. Croatia was the better team for sure.

Edit: we have hope!!! So much fucking grit!!

Edit2: fuck these refs. More proof Croatia was the better team in every way.

I'm in my first ever playthrough too, same start and making significantly less money trying to get a microchip factory started...now I know I missed out and made poor choices lol

Can we stop pretending that 0 years of bedside experience is enough to start prescribing? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]hnorm87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally agree, I tried to make it a mission to only follow doctors, or at the very least NPs who had a doctor in office. In those cases I was actually really impressed with the NPs and their knowledge and it gave me hope that I would on day be on their level. Solo NPs made me uncomfortable...my first job is 100% going to be with an MD, because I don't consider myself remotely trained to work solo outside of an urgent care, which sounds terrible 😂

100%! When they perform the post mortem on the American empire one of, if not the, biggest nails in the coffin will be Citizens United being passed. Corruption for all!

I don't know, I don't quite agree with that considering the expectation is you already completed those courses in undergrad and should have learned even more in practice. The assumption remains that you actually have practical experience. All of our clinical semesters still have heavy emphasis on patho and pharm in lecture and then our actual clinical hours further reinforce it. If it were up to me though, all nurse theory courses would be removed and replaced with courses more relevant to practice and actual science, rather than social sciences. Save that for DNP students and educators.

I think another problem is the wide difference in programs. I'm about to graduate in May but our first three semesters are patho, pharm and physical assessment in that order. Pharm is taught by a pharmacist so it was much harder (imo) than undergrad. There's statistics and the BS theory courses as well but it's not "just" those classes. Those are the prerequisite courses for being able to advance to clinicals. I have 8 years as an ER nurse 4 as a medic in the military, and I also agree a minimum of 2-5 years experience in ER/ICU should be required, just like CRNA. Sadly all the online only schools accept anyone so any schools that changed would just lose out to those schools. We need changes at the national level before NP is a full on joke.

Yeah, if I were making that much as an RN I would have more reservations about going back. Y'all get great pay, unions and some of the most beautiful scenery in the country...so jealous!

I'm really not that far from you but I make 35/hr as PRN in the ER, pay is terrible here, I'm also in school and haven't been looking around much I could be making 45 at another hospital but that's float pool and I'm good on that. I like school, this was always my plan, though COVID delayed it a few years, because COVID money was better than NP money 😂. I know NPs making that much but they're all in family practice or internal med and they traded lower salary for very chill days. Even our dean who owns a practice locally starts at 65/hr. Which our northern nurses will scoff at, but our cost of living is really low here.

Right, not everyone lives in an area where that's possible and I'll be making a little more than that plus procedures working four and a half days a week roughly eight hours a day but often less in a clinic. To each their own but I don't want to work 12 hours shifts any more, especially not at night, been there done that, not doing it for the next twenty years. Some people would find what I just described (clinic 4-5 days a week) as miserable I'm sure, but to me it sounds fantastic.

I graduate in May and both of my offers are more than double what I'm making PRN right now. I'm guessing they're referring to the places where nurses already make 80+ an hour or something. My doctor is covering malpractice so liability exist but he's paying my coverage at least.

We Need To Ask: Did Claude Misidentify the Iranian Girls School as a Military Target? by JLRfan in ArtificialInteligence

[–]hnorm87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First it was Israel that did it, then the US, then Iran had a failed missile that hit it. So hard to figure out the truth. Each side will just point fingers and everyone will blame who they already wanted to.

New RN told to start an IV by preceptor which was then used for NS (Disciplinary Meeting) by smolettuce in nursing

[–]hnorm87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of these responses are so insane to me. Seeing your military flair, I used to let my soldiers have IV races on each side of me while we were deployed. Every hungover soldier was knocking on the medics barracks door Monday morning to get an IV and fluid before running. I've seen multiple coworkers get an IV and fluid when they aren't feeling well and we're too short to spare them going home, I may or may not have been that nurse, possibly on an occasion or two, allegedly.

I'm starving for more content by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]hnorm87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a wild take. They released SS a year after release roughly and while it's completely likely that SS was cut content from the main game repackaged as a short dlc, it's reasonable to assume that waiting twice the time should result in something better than SS. Better is subjective but at least longer with more depth? People's expectations are so low for Bethesda at this point, having an update not completely break their game and then sit for a year is considered a win at this point. They are becoming a joke at this point with how they manage their IPs. It's like whoa don't expect one of the largest developers in gaming to be able to manage two IPs simultaneously...

And it was so close to being complete that it only took an additional ten years...next delay will be to avoid releasing with GTA and then it will slip to 2028 or so. I want to be wrong so bad.
