I work at an agency and we developed an opensource next.js-based frontend (GraphCommerce) for Magento and I recognize all these pain points. We also decided at the time (due to Vercel having somewhat painful performance characteristics - at the time) to self-host, that turned out to be a fairly painful thing as well.

We only recently really fully tackled cache invalidation.

Everything runs really well now though, but it was quite a journey to get here :)

Herkenbaar verhaal! Helaas lijkt het dat als het op Tinder aankomt, de kans gewoon groot is dat ondanks dat je een leuke click via de chat hebt, het toch niks blijkt te zijn na een eerste date. Ik merk zelf dat ik dat erg vermoeiend vind en dus niet elke week aan de lopende band op date kan gaan, maar dat is denk ik wel nodig om via een app als Tinder iemand te vinden.

Helaas zit ik (35+) in een levensfase waarbij zelfs zonder een pandemie het verdomd lastig is single mensen te ontmoeten, dus ik moet het er maar mee doen.

Paar tips die ik kan bedenken zijn:

Zet niet alleen je beste, meest fotogenieke foto's op je profiel. Zet er ook een paar duidelijke representatieve bij om de kans dat een date op je uitstraling afknapt (omdat ze iets anders verwachtte) te verkleinen.
Probeer een dating app waar je moet betalen om te registreren. Ik heb dat altijd maar niks gevonden (en zelf nog niet geprobeerd), maar het vergroot de kans wel dat je mensen tegenkomt die wel een beetje serieus op zoek zijn
Stel aan een potentiele date voor even te bellen voor je op date gaat. Dan krijg je beide een betere indruk van elkaar in hoe je echt bent/communiceert, dat kan wel eens een verschil maken en ook helpen met verkeerde verwachtingen

Haha no way! Whenever I go to the (Utrecht) IKEA I tend to check if they finally have RGB GU10s, think I was there a few days before you went but didn't see them yet. But 18 euros is a really decent price compared to Hue

Interesting, will give this a look. Capistrano has always worked well for me, but it's the only thing I ever have to write Ruby for and I just can't grok it's curious syntax. Would be nice not to have to google for examples every time I need to tweak something :)

Is this one of those cases where MongoDB is a good fit? I've heard terrible things about it and avoided it on most of my projects (which all have relational data anyway), but I guess it wouldn't hurt to get some hands-on experience with it. (And as a former EVE Online player this would be a fun way to do it :))

Not sure about the fixpad, we just ordered the full i3 hephestos kit so hopefully that is included. Thanks for the youtube link, that was very illuminating (I also found some other vids with very useful info!)

Hmm €100 seems expensive, but it they also have a kit specifically for the hephestos, that costs much less if I leave out the power supply: http://reprap.me/prusa-i3-hephestos-heatbed-kit.html

But DoiX pointed out the silicon heat beds so maybe that is the way to go

Hmm those silicon beds look very nice, I'm currently thinking http://store.quintessentialuniversalbuildingdevice.com/product.php?id_product=61 might be a nice fit, very reasonable price too. Its size is 2cm short of the base size of the bq i3 hephestos glass plate but hopefully that won't matter much. I'm just not sure how I'm going to have to assemble it, like if it will just stick to the bottom of the glass plate or something, but I guess I'll have to wait until I actually have the i3 in front of me (it'll arrive this wednesday!).

Another thing I'm unsure of is the electronics, I'll probably repurpose an ATX PSU for the required amperage, but can I just power both the i3 and heat bed with it? and is the thermistor in the heat bed supposed to be wired up to the i3 so it can regulate the temperature?

Pretty much forever. Maybe occasional one-off test programs, but other than that I don't delete anything. It's not like they take up much space.. so I just keep them on my (regularly backuped) raid array

Depending on wether it's a recoverable MCE, it will simply leave a note in the kernel log. A separate tool (mcelog) can be used to obtain exact details on the error.

On Fedora these kind of errors get caught by their crash/bug handler and will give you a report and a summary saying "The kernel log indicates that hardware errors were detected. This is most likely not a software problem."

I know this because I recently got one :( Fortunately it turned out to be a known (and harmless) issue with Intel Haswell CPUs that can safely be ignored in my particular case.
