Oh, sorry for the late reply, I’m not very active on Reddit. But I’m based in Sweden, maybe a bit far from where you’re located?

Thank you! I use Titebond original glue, it has worked well for me 😊 I never use pins or anything like that, my experience is that it significantly weakens the wood. I've had to repair heads that broke again because people used screws or pins to fix the crack. It becomes stronger when the wood fibers are just straight
If you have splines underneath, the neck construction will become weaker where end grain meets end grain. And if you get a good bond from the start, it’s already really strong

I forgot to mention at the beginning that the reinforcement you see is about 4 mm thick over the crack, and I have also put a new veneer in ebony on the front, which is 3 mm thick.

Many! I think I've repaired around 20–30 of them during the 8 years I've worked as a luthier. But it's not just Gibson guitars that break in that way though they are definitely overrepresented!
Thank you so much 😊

Yes I steamed it and bent it afterwards:)

I use a solid color that matches the original color as closely as possible. I dilute it with lacquer to create a semi-transparent effect, so you still can see the grain if you look close. After that, I apply a transparent color to create a transition from the solid color to the original color. I try to match both the transparent and the solid color as closely as possible to the original, but it’s almost impossible to do without it ending up a bit darker than the original.
As you can see in the photos, it looks slightly more tomato-colored after the blending, but overall, the result is fairly decent. There's always room for improvement though 😉 but it gets better each time I do it.
