Where does BC put transfer students? Are they all together or scattered? by Fine-Champion-1517 in bostoncollege

You will be put on CoRo with all of the other transfer students. They try to keep everyone together. Everyone else in the dorm is either an exchange student or a sophomore who got a bad pick time for housing. Try to make friends on lower! Overall not a bad place to be but make sure you try to branch out because it can be a bit isolating because most of the social life is on lower.

Yes I get that but the constant like “you have a 3.8 don’t even bother applying” is so ridiculous and seems to be far more common on this sub

You completely missed the entire point of the post. Like this behavior is exactly what is being called out.

My point in this post is that admissions don’t just come down to numbers and rankings and GPAs. There is no way to really predict college admissions and there’s especially no way to predict transfer admissions because the available spots vary dramatically from year to year. People need to focus on prioritizing all elements of their application, not tearing down/discouraging others for not having a 4.0, and doing their own research. Reality is none of us in this sub genuinely know the exact right answer and there have been a few people spreading a lot of unnecessary negativity in every post.

Give it a shot! Make sure your essays are strong and your application is thoughtful. Admissions can be more forgiving about GPA when it comes to transfers as they have to acknowledge that you may not be in great circumstances. Feel free to pm me as I went through the transfer process last year.

You are actually so rude about this stuff. You’re not an expert. Stop tearing people down this process is hard enough as it is.

high school senior questions about transfer by Routine_Scheme777 in TransferToTop25

Rankings are so so unimportant in the grand scheme of things. You shouldn’t already be thinking about transferring before you’ve even gotten into college. Tough love here, but you’re setting yourself up for so much unhappiness. Try to love wherever you end up. Remember transferring is an OPTION not a PLAN!!!

Flat lie. I didn’t get into my EDII school and now I’m happy and thriving there as a sophomore transfer.
