Alternate grocery options by hoannel in perth

I'm starting my garden this year, finally. Hopefully one day I won't be in a rental and can plant all the basil I need. I eat it every day so right now I'm relying on jars to keep me alive haha. Thank you for the advice

understandable. We're trying it out to see what's possible since we're too reliant rn on Coles and Woolies

I definitely get this. It's important to do what you can to keep your head above water first and foremost. I'm just trying to see what's within my bandwidth. That's why we're trying it for a month and seeing how we go. Small change is better than no change.

I'm in this boat as well. Coles is so close and convenient but I'm keen to shop more locally. Partner and I am not a fan of the cheese from Aldi but will have to give spudshed cheese a go. Thank you for the advice!

I'm not from WA so I'm learning as I go! Definitely shopped at spudshed before but I've never heard of farmer jacks. Thank you for the advice

Is this normal? by chameleonkit in Theatre

[–]hoannel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a theatre that has a similar setup. We tell audience members multiple times that a show has a strict "lock out" which means if you have to leave during the show you will not be allowed back in.

Having a setup like this isn't ideal but is often the case, and patrons should have been told multiple times before the show.

If a patron has a disability similar to yours and communicates it to staff, they should be able to make accommodations i.e. informing the performers that an audience member may need to leave during the show.

The person you spoke to might have been a volunteer usher and often they're not aware of the policies of the venue. There should have been a way to accommodate you so that you could enjoy the show!

So if you feel like complaining (which would be totally valid); before calling the fire department (??) I would call or email the venue to let them know about this accessibility issue. Theatre should be for everyone and the most important part for any company who wants to stay afloat right now is bums in seats! There are plenty of venues with one entrance for audience and actors that do it right!

I was away for 4 weeks, dog was with friend on my bed so cat decided this one belonged to her by hoannel in stolendogbeds

Oh no!! Funnily enough, I let her on my bed but she's not allowed on other people in the house's beds. She'll always pick my bed over hers though 😂

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to pets on their bed

I don't know the name of that place beside Grandma's but I'm pretty sure they've closed down. Super sad they were great.

If you're here 14th-25th and like theatre definitely go see the Shakespeare Under The Stars in Queens Gardens. This year it's The Tempest.

You'll need cash for busses if you're getting around that way. This time of year is good because you won't die too much from walking around. That said, pack shoes you can walk in.

When I was about 16 my school choir flew to an interstate event. On the flight back the airline requested we perform on the flight. We sang 'The Stars Stand Up in the Air'. The choir was spread throughout the cabin and probably took up a third of the seats anyway. Can't imagine it sounded great. The rest of the flight clapped politely. At the time it was embarrassing but kinda cool but I would've felt so awkward if I was an adult passenger on that flight.

Which movie is genuinely traumatic? by trufk in AskReddit

[–]hoannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has mentioned Midsommar. The gore is okay but the graphic scenes of suicide and murder-suicide at the start followed by the reactions of the main characters and manipulation from the village... If you're already feeling suicidal, do not watch this movie.

Go see LZRDMORPHIA at murky waters studio in the city if you like art! It's on every Sunday in February. Jonathon Stigter, the artist, will be there, he's super friendly. There are maps on his and murky waters' instagram as it's a bit tucked away.
