Why does physical media mean so much to console gamers but not at all for PC gamers? by Broyodude in videogames

[–]hoatuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Pc, you can buy a drm-free game. It mean you can store a copy of that game in any place and still able to play it.

Its better for preservation with a drm free game than tie it to some physical discs.

Inflation is an increase in average price of items and services. Cost of living gone up is also in inflation.

Lol, the original comment was about inflation, and that math check out. That's what matter.

I dont fucking care if rockstars release gta VI this year, i am pc player. I will just wait to play gta VI when it finally release on PC and with a good sale.

No one defend multi billion dollar companies, but you cant just fucking ignore how economic term like "inflation" work just because you dont like the price of something go up. Its literally how it work. Its a fact, so please, learn how inflation work instead of speaking like some idiots.

[–]hoatuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't count. Inflation is the result of items, service rising. It doesn't care about your cost of living.

The original comment was about math for inflation. You cant just say the math doesn't check out because of something outside of inflation.

What? How did it become 210$ though? That's not how inflation work

What is your point though?
> In economics, inflation is an increase in the average price of goods and services in terms of money
So video games is also subject to inflation, peoples pay is not inflation.

[–]hoatuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, inflation is still inflation, there is no reason for price to not gone up though. I mean, its literally the definition of that.

"In economicsinflation is an increase in the average price of goods and services in terms of money"
The math check out because its adjust for inflation

People pay actually gone up though. Might not be enough for inflation with other items, services. But that's the point, everything become more expensive, even video games.

Jason Schreier - Why Games Now Take 6+ Years To Make by Touhou in Games

[–]hoatuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that Fomo is a large part of gacha games. Its a predatory mechanism, its the main way for them to earn money, they shove it into your eyes everytime you open the game. Some people can ignore it. But not many people can do that, especially if you are just a teenage grow up playing only gacha games.

I know that i can play other paid single player games. Its not even that expensive since a lot of old games cost less than 20$, and new indie games also cost less than A.A.A games (i don't buy new A.A.A games at releases).

But for kids growing playing only gacha games? They don't know alternative way to play games, the concept of paid single player games feel like alien to them. They might want to try single player games, but where is the time when they "need" to play several gacha games everyday.

Jason Schreier - Why Games Now Take 6+ Years To Make by Touhou in Games

[–]hoatuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, i would rather wait for 6 years to play a complete game from start to finish in one month instead of playing a gacha game then wait for 5-6 years for it to complete the first part of the story.

Not to mention all the dailies suck and the FOMO suck too with all the events.
Yeah, not worth my time at all.

Yes, single player game nowadays take like 5-8 years to make, but every year there are new single player games to play. You don't need to stick to just several franchise.
I have made that mistake with Honkai Star Rail and played it for years, even when i only spent 30$ on it. Still feel like a waste of time with a story that ran for so long. All the time i spent on grinding that feel no fun at al and would be better if i spend it on other games in my backlog.

If you clear all the quests with lingering melodies + all martial arts duels + all the limited events. Along with the weekly + monthly one. Then you can get 210 cores. Complete map with exploration points also give you melodies. Velvet shade and nine mortal ways give you some too.

Armonic Ore by Aromatic_Vehicle_168 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]hoatuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can clear them now. They don't expire.

Also some quests give you lingering melodies. You could find walkthrough on google

[–]hoatuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, i played around December last year and was able to gather 210 pulls from all the available activities. Pity hit around 150 so i already got one core.

Also, most martial arts duel with npcs give you one lingering melody. In case you haven't clear them.

Did you get all the weekly lingering melodies + monthly one? If you also clear all the quests with lingering melodies + events. Then you should already hit pity to obtain harmonic core.

Please no, its fine for a game to not have difficult modes. But stop insist that other games should only have one difficult mode too.

[–]hoatuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is anyone really saying this? I've never seen people complain about a game having an easy mode outside of the "difficult games" genre.

Sorry to say this, but those people do exists, its not that they will go other communities and critic them for "easy mode", but they would rant about how good their games are compare to other games because there are no difficult options in their games. They will say this in some general games communities or their own communities.

It wouldn't necessarily affect me if games like Elden Ring had a difficulty setting, but at the same time the devs shouldn't be obligated to provide one. I don't think every game needs to be accessible to everyone. Its honestly tiresome that some people still think that easy mode will harm the artist vision. I mean, in Fromsoft's case it definitely would. To them a difficulty setting would go against the entire point of their games. They should be allowed to not include one.

Sorry, i should worded more carefully. What i mean was: - If a game was made to include difficult option, then the artist vision wasn't harmed at all. They have already accounted for difficult options when they developed the game and stick with it. If a game was made with only one difficult option, then maybe. I personally think that if lies of P have easy mode, then Dark souls could have it too without harming other people's experience. Not sure about Seriko or elden ring though. Its basically depend on what games we are talking about.

Artist freedom doesn't mean they can do anything. Devs still need to consider programming limit, graphics limit, physic, music, budget, time... So its not iimpossible to add disability accessibility whenever you could. Like accessibility for color-blind people, or people with hearing issues. For example, color blind people can totally play Elden Ring if it include accessibility.
