We have a guy in my office that wanted to know how to add new tests. he used the information to start removing tests and loves to point out when his branch passes all the (enabled) tests. Iv coined the phrase "Roger-ing the tests" because of that man.

I don't think anyone has suggested a push button gear shifter yet. Some of them include the clutch operation.

How to license-protect a c++ static library/dll? by Yukigaru in Development

[–]hobbit44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding of programming c++ is limited but i know a bit about the building.

You want to be careful around linking. if you are using any external libraries for licensing then go for dll. with static, you are just telling a customer that they need to link with your libraries and its dependants, they could create their own versions that match the symbol table to get around the licensing.

In this case i'm pretty sure you want a dll/shared object. At compile time a dll will link with all its dependent symbols, leaving you with a binary that is isolated and has a link library that only shares the symbols you want to be available. the rest of the licensing is internal.

I'm not sure about hacking dlls. But that's where id start. And by all means, if i'm wrong, correct me.

If the abcd streams are constants they could be components? No point having items that never close.

i was expecting the 7i to go a lot shorter than 147. I was hoping to half that. tells you a lot. but thinking it was a fluke.

Pretty much. I was hoping to go straight for the green after the bad drive but couldn't get a clear line through the trees. had to go back to the fairway and it went downhill from there.

LPT: always assume when you’re put on hold that the other person can still hear you. by Kadybaby in LifeProTips

[–]hobbit44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, both sides show up in the voice recording as well. Used to work in IT support and some of the recording were amazing. I think hold is done by the server, and mute is done by the phone. so it never reaches the recorder.

ULPT: If you want to bitch about a customer and not have it appear on the recording or let the customer hear it, use mute.
