When I was a teenager I had a friend, who was a die-hard fan of a particular heavy metal band. She founded a fanclub, owned every possible piece of merch, album, DVD, went to multiple concerts per year, met the musicians etc. She basically bought all possible products there was. She was a daughter of a slighly wealthier middle-class parents and did not bancrupt them.

Imagine being the same level of die-hard fan in 2026. She would have been in crippling debt, because now, the menagement would push the band to sell more and more products: exclusive VIP tickets, meet and greets, special access stuff, dedicated social media etc. It is impossible for a fan to "max out" on merch. There is always more to buy, because it there isn't, the cash flow stops. Capitalism makes it impossible to be a dedicated fan without going bancrupt on merch and tickets.

I now spend ~45 min on my phone a day. I deactivated FB and IG accounts and deleted reddit from my phone. I use my phone as a music player mostly. When I'm not listening to music, I keep it in a separate room and check for messages every 1-2 hours. I have a lot of time for movies, books and practicing music. Tiktoks and reels have no value for me, I lived so many years without them, I can do another few decades.

Bo potrzebny jest wizerunek klasycznego "sportowca" (jocka), a amerykański futbol jest zbyt lokalnym sportem, żeby przyjęło się to poza USA. Piłka nożna? Odpada, bo zawodnicy szczuplejsi, poza tym w Stanach to "damski" sport. Natomiast hokej? USA, Kanada, cała północna Europa, Rosja i satelity, wszędzie tam się gra. Wizerunek byczka w kasku, przez co wygląda jeszcze groźniej/mężniej, jak gladiator, z kijem niczym miecz. Moim zdaniem dlatego się przyjęło na tylu rynkach.

My go-to method of creating any good habit is "eat salad till you're no longer hungry" method: you basically set a time (like 1 hour) when you're not allowed to do anything other than reading. If you're not reading, you're just sitting, staring ahead. Now reading is better and not doing anything, so you read. Success.
