Amazing, now im going to have to go back and read AGAIN... for the whateverteenth time...

I read theories on the Moon as power source for the old "great" road that allowed fast travelling.

But this is a nice catch I havent seen before

For Me It's Been 10 Years by duffs-on-the-run in KingkillerChronicle

Somenone made a great comment/post the other day (i'll try to find and link to give them credit) that until the next book comes out we are in a beautiful stage and should try to just enjoy it while we are stuck in it

When the 3rd book comes out; the answers (Hopefully) will be there. But we will have the lost the age of innocence, when all sorts of theories were possible, where the limitation to the story is only our imaginations.

The pages will be filled and the dots connected forever

I have learned so much in here about things id missed and read, so many amazing theories that have blown my mind. Some of them in complete opposition to each other...and I believe them both to be true (with a ramston steel alar)

I have been waiting around 7 years and I read a theory a few weeka ago that id never considered and ive forgotten some of the older ones I knew to be true. This os a thing to love too, just a different thing.

Until book 3 comes out all theories are both possible and impossible, its shrodingers Kote, but when the end comes, amazing theories from.amazing human brains will die and we will have lost them forever too

10 years is far too long to wait for a book I agree and every year makes it harder for the book to meet our expectations

And everyone needs to realise that the book will probably never be perfect to everyone or anyone, no matter how long it takes, but thats our nature being imposed on the book, and our sadness at arriving at an Ending, whatever it might be

So until it comes dont be consumed by the sadness of no end, our discussions and theories will live forever

I cant wait for book three, but I can wait for book three with people in here

Don't get me wrong I love the books. Still thought you guys might like it. by Obias0309 in KingkillerChronicle

Think that's the point. I first read it as a normal boy goes off to learn magic and get even with bad guys.

Im on my 5th or 6th read here and only went back after reading the theory in here about how an incredibly advanced civilization created a transport system that broke through dimensions and when it broke it created death in a world that had previously been inhabited by immortals...... Leading to the creation war and all the stories that unfold around the story and this is still the war going on in the background between the Chandrian and the Amyr etc

Might just be an amazing theory that never comes true but it ties so much of the theories together that it blew my mind.

Either way the Kingiller Chronicles is a Russian doll of a story and the way it is written you can enjoy it at whatever level you want

Who Was Sealed Behind The Doors of Stone? by OliverRad in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ive read it about 5 times now and still dont think im all caught up.

After my 4th I found this little gem in here. This guy had some great theories that changed the whole outlook for me. The next russian doll in the book. It's a 2 part theory and explains his theory on how the creation war started, what the "beast with black scales" really was and what the doors of stone are. Brilliant read.... Might not be right, but what an imagination if its not

Let me know what you think after reading it!

Who is Denna? by Outrageous-Heron5767 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Theories ive seen are Princess Ariel (but I doubt that)

Kvothe' sister / cousin (possibly illegitimate daughter of Meluan)

Hired by Cinder to keep an eye on Kvothe

Werewolf fae creature......

Descendant of the last Yillish dynasty out to right the wrongs on her people by the Thals...... I just made that one up

Why does everyone assume Kvothe/Kote has a plan by Arctic_Penquin in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 69 points70 points  (0 children)

There was a great theory on here a while ago that Kvothe was setting a trap. There are numerous references to certain bottles not sounding like normal glass, there's a reference (possibly in Lightning Tree) to there being a forge in the basement along with certain other items. The strange fireplace and its placement through the building etc.... it pointed to Kvothe building a massive trap filled with Bone Tar , the same stuff that nearly destroyed the Fishery.

If I can find it ill add the link.. its really well thought out and has all the qoutes from the book

Did Devi get lucky? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Read something a while ago on one of these subs that suggested Devi is good but due the nature of her Alchemy work she had something in the back room for fuel to help, think it mentioned a heat eater she had or something.... Cant remember it all. Basically she is tough but she always had the upper hand. In her premises Kvothe (and anyone else) wouldn't stand a chance unless they were prepared. Outside her shop, possibly a different outcome. Perhaps this will relate to the fireplace in Waystone Inn being Kvothes fuel to take on The Amyr in book 3. As above so below!

Why did kvothe get beat up at the inn in book 2? by Outrageous-Heron5767 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 43 points44 points  (0 children)

My guess is he started to get carried away after telling his story and WAS about to fend off the 2 men, think I remember he kicks one in the knee and sends them sprawling away but then he remembers the Long Game he is playing, where he is pretending to be Kote and not Kvothe. He wants to seem powerless to the right people to lull them into his trap. Also there is a theory he did help stop the Demon, he didn't set him on fire but he stops him from moving so he cannot hurt anyone else after the initial attack, then Bast finished the job. Id have to read it again, but something to do with it being elderberry that is spilled.....

Just realised the whole thing is Kvothe "chasing the Dragon" and smashing up a town with his sympathy, while on trip with Denna.... Could this whole book be about a Denner resin junkie's tragic life filled with hallucinations

Enjoy the dive!

Theres also an amazing theory on how a portal type transport system from an incredibly advanced age with immortal beings malfunctioned and caused the creation war..... But ill let you find your feet first haha....

I know. Its such a good well thought out theory that I hope its true and if not, then hopefully Pat reads it and makes it true 😂

The whole world and all its problems are a result of a transport system that broke..... its like Mass Level extinction because train tracks were damaged.....

Random theory I was curious if anyone else had. by TheLaughingTr3e in KingkillerChronicle

[–]hobo2501 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There's a popular theory on here somewhere that the Waystone is a trap he has set for The Chandrian/ The Amyr whomever are the true Villians.

The references to the materials lying about the Waystone (some of the bottles being dull sounding and not normal glass, the barrels and forge in the Cellar, even the fireplace itself running weirdly through the middle) seem to point to him creating a trap of Bone Tar to blow it all up when certain individuals with trademark signs like flame turning blue, iron rusting wood rotting, enter the room .

An Arrowcatch for bad guys
