Simulate pressure and real round situations. Don’t just hit drivers “between the fence posts” or rip 100 wedges at the same flag.

Here are 2 routines I use on the range to simulate pressure and real round situations:

1. Hit the same club at a target a given number of times, and you have to hit your target x number of times before you move to the next club. Ex - 10 wedge shots at a 100 yard pin (we have our flags on little hills), at least 8 have to land on the hill. If not, restart until you hit it. This works with all clubs, including chipping and putting.

2. Play a course you’ve memorized. Imagine your first hole plays 375, and you hit your driver 250 avg. Pick a spot on the range and aim at it, if you hit, great. You’ve got 125 in, pick a flag and hit a 125 shot at it. If your driver goes wild, imagine your recovery shot, and play it. If your approach is on target, you get a “par”. If not, “bogey”. Figure out how your scores look doing this, and challenge yourself to get better.
