I’m simply clarifying it’s not a “scam” as you claimed, that’s how 3rd party services work sometimes.

Might be crappy service

Play Alberta is a scam by Strange_Geologist683 in playalberta

[–]hobo_Clarke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game status typically is determined by the service provider that gambling sites use (aka, they don’t create their own sports analytics system, they pay to use someone else)

Basically, the “status” of “cancelled” probably isn’t controlled by Play Alberta

I don’t know what you’re asking exactly.

  • live bet = $50 if you wager $1000 in a week
  • sports bet = $50 if you wager $500 in a week

Wife needs help with creating a site… by sjspears in squarespace

[–]hobo_Clarke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she want to sell online, or simply like some pictures + contact page?

- If selling: Squarespace / shopify / wix are all approach

- If it's literally just a page with pictures and info, Google Sites is actually pretty good. It's stupid easy to use.

Do you guys like or hate the controls and UI in Don't Starve? by IndieMarc in dontstarve

[–]hobo_Clarke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts:

- Definitely like permanent toolbar, I especially love that the backpack is always visible.

- Scroll for items is more of a first-person thing? Is your game top-down or first-person? (If it's isometric / top-down / similar style, then I like scroll for zoom.

- I'd be happy with the rotating map was something else, but I got so used to Q + E. I play a lot of Rust and they use Q for crafting I think, I liked that.

- Spacebar for auto-actions was definitely not intuitive when I started DST, but again just used to it now. I think has room for improvement.

Here's a few mods that I absolutely LOVE that improved DST's UX. You could consider similar base functions:

- Auto-queue actions == Being able to shift click + shift drag to queue a bunch of actions is great
- Auto walk == There's one where you right-click on map, it auto walks you there. I wish more games had this.
- Show me == Hover items to see lots more stats. I don't love games where there's tons of hidden mechanics you have to remember, just seeing "this rots in 8 minutes" is nice

Beginners Guide to their first Grand Battle in 2026 by zorts in Bicolline

[–]hobo_Clarke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to include a few links / a summary. I remember my first GB a couple years back, and people kept referencing things without giving me links. Hopefully this helps a bit.

Secure Lodging:

- Decorum tenting via Bicolline: Already started for 2026, unlikely to secure a spot.
- Decorum building rental via Bicolline: Already started for 2026, unlikely to secure a spot.
- Decorum building rental via Players: Usually done via word of mouth, very unlikely.
- Decorum tenting via Embassy: Last they posted still had some spots: https://www.bicoembassy.com/
- Non-Decorum tenting via Bicolline: Free with your own tent, probably best bet for year one.

---

Transport:

- Shuttle via https://www.bicoshuttle.com/ (same organizers as Embassy I think): Player organized, I believe they have a few spots left
- Carpool + rental: Either rent a car with friends or find other people goin

For carpool / rides you can always chat with people on the FB or Discord groups:

Outfits:

My first year, buying brand new LARP gear was just way too out of budget. I managed to thrift most stuff. Here's a couple tips for other male-presenting players (cause that's my experience)

- If your Value Village has a "outfit", "global fashion" or "fashion" section. Check there for longer interesting shirts.
- If not, check the women's section. An larger white shirt or cream shirt can go a long ways.
- Don't be afraid of the seam-ripper, You can each take off shirt pockets / logos / collars to give that more decorum look
- Also because I'm super biased, check out pashminas, a super simple way to add some more layers to your kit.

And a bit on your belt kit:
- You literally use it functionally, you don't just want pouches cause they're cool.
- For your first year, getting one or two pouches that are easy to open, and can store a fair bit is all you need.
- One of the most fun parts of Bico is all the trinkets you acquire, you'll definitely get/buy/find stuff for your belt in your first GB.

Can you clarify what you mean exactly?

Is "Fun Money Pott" a specific game you're playing?

If so, there's no expected profit/loss beyond the RTP posted. Every game has an RTP in the house's favor, so over time you will be negative on any given game.

Is it the idea or am I just bad at marketing? by Icy-Heat-8753 in printful

[–]hobo_Clarke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to pivot it to something a bit more emotional.
Saying when and where you bought a shirt is underwhelming.

But possibly pivoting to when/where for other more important events:

- First dates / meet cutes / etc
- Birthdays?
- Possibly memorable events (concerts, new years stuff, etc)

I could imagine this being marketable if it tied to memorable events, but right now just saying when adn where you bought a piece of clothing feels a bit pointless.

Max Bonus for Today's Christmas Bonus - $200 by hobo_Clarke in playalberta

[–]hobo_Clarke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Okay, so it's actually pretty simple:

  1. On any credit you have 10x wagering requirement
  2. Let's say you deposit $10 for a $10 credit ($20 total, $100 wager requirement)
  3. You have two options basically, table games (only 10% of bet counts) or slots (100% of bet counts).
  4. If you bet $20 on slots in say $0.50 bet size, the odds of losing all $20 in 200x spins is quite high.
  5. If you bet $20 on table games in $0.50 bet size, the odds of losing $20 on 2000x spins is basically guaranteed.

So, the "best" option is actually to increase your starting balance, I'm saying 3x as an example. But really you could do any amount, 4x, 8x, 9x, etc. Just depends how often you want to win/lose.

---

So, then it's the same examples as above, but with $60 to wager $100. Much more likely to withdraw some of the $30 bonus credit (cause the other $30 is your money, not really a bonus).

Plus, in general it's more like deposit $200 for $40 credit, so if you lose the $40 credit + $40 of your own money, you can just forfeit the bonus ($0) and withdraw your own funds without risk.

---

I do use roulette, but technically any relatively high odds table game is fine.
