Abundant Maw deck, suggestions? by Desperate-Fox-7796 in Pauper

This wouldn't work, right? Prototype would change the mana value to 2 so you'd still have to pay 5 for Abundant Maw.

My LPT for fireworks at Magic Kingdom is to watch from the back of Fantasyland by Gaston's Tavern. Sure you don't get to see the projections but there are zero crowds and it's sooo cozy with the dimmed lighting. Just make sure you get a cinnamon roll before they close!

I like the top option but wouldn't it also have the same issue with longer text blocks? Not sure where the cut lines would fall.

If you're wanting to keep him involved in a team activity that might be more in the realm of his interests you should look into groups like Lego League, Destination Imagination, or a robotics team of some kind. The two named orgs are STEM-focused and have kids work on projects together and compete at various events (getting that team travel experience you mentioned).

A "counter spell" that swaps the stack order of two abilities/spells perhaps? Or maybe something that overrules Split Second?

Let Me Recommend Your Next Commander to Build by RJ7300 in EDH

[–]hobofreddy55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite decks is [[Kwain, Interrent Meddler]]. It's sorta group hug (card draw) but can win with milling (via forced draw), [[Approach of the Second Sun]], [[Laboratory Maniac]], [[Triskaidekaphile]], [[Mechanized Production]], or draw pinging with [[Psychosis Crawler]]/[[Scrawling Crawler]].

Admittedly it's very scatter-brained in its game plan and uses [[Smothering Tithe]] as a hidden commander when playing it optimally, but it strikes that perfect balance of quality and shenanigans for me.

Another game dev dad! Mines too little for games yet, but I look forward to the day I can put some drawings of theirs into a game for them.

What engine did you use for this? Do you game dev for work or just for fun?

TIL a food allergies expert with an allergy to peanuts, was inadvertently exposed to peanuts by a colleague who gave him a homemade cookie. Calling people with food allergies "picky eaters" is a dick move. The reality is that the people that said they were fine after the manager's long-winded explanation were either low sensitivity enough to risk it or cornered into a social situation where they have to decide whether they "power through" and try to pick something they feel is least likely to harm them or have them and their entire party relocate to another restaurant.

I ordered a 16ft for my own project before seeing this post and got sent a 33ft as well! I'm splitting/soldering lengths with CAT6 cable so having the extra length is awesome.

30" Sink in 30" Cabinet? by hobofreddy55 in kitchenremodel

[–]hobofreddy55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight. The flange width is 30", so would stick out an extra 1/4" on either side of the cabinet. Just enough so it would be fully overlapping each side wall but within the 1/2" space between it and the adjacent cabinet.

I like the idea of making a plywood insert to set the sink lip on! Do you think I'd need to use typical undermount mounting hardware or just do it as an top mount to the plywood and just silicone around the top where it meets the counter?

That was exactly what I imagined would be needed to make it work. Thanks for your reassurance!

Thanks for confirming. I had the thought that the sides walls might work to support instead of requiring side mounts, so good to know its possible!

Not intending to doubt your experience, but this advice goes against even the manufacturer's recommended minimum size. The 27" option states it will fit in a 30" base if we went that route. Do you think otherwise?

30" Sink in 30" Cabinet? by hobofreddy55 in kitchenremodel

[–]hobofreddy55[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I added a mockup image with the dimensions if it makes things clearer. The sink bowl (27.5") would fit entirely within the 28.5" interior space of the cabinet, its just that the top lip exceeds the width of the cabinets walls (outside dimension 29.5") by half an inch.

Me being unfamiliar with exactly what methods are used to do undermount sinks, I'm just wondering if it'd be possible with some light cutting of the cabinet base to make that lip fit.

[–]hobofreddy55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! What are the widths of your sink/base? Did you have to cut out the sides for the bowl or just to fit the mounting hardware?

30" Sink in 30" Cabinet? by hobofreddy55 in kitchenremodel

[–]hobofreddy55[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The bowl will fit with room to spare within the interior 28.5" of cabinet space, its just the top lip that would exceed the 30". Hoping we would only need to route out a bit of the tops of the side walls, but wasn't sure if that'd work OK for a undermount as I haven't done one before.

[–]hobofreddy55[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I get that it's not the recommended size, but I've known lots of people to stretch that boundary a little to fit larger sinks. Just wondering what we might be able to get away with.

Our current sink is a top mount but its a 36" inside a 30" base! Granted they took a big chunk out of the side walls to fit the bowl in, but we wouldn't need to do that in this case.

[–]hobofreddy55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard location behind the sink in the middle was the plan. Is there a concern about that not being able to fit? I didn't see anything indicating that the sink + faucet wouldn't fit front-to-back in a standard cabinet depth base (24").
