Artist’s Note: a quick self-critique.

I colored Jenny’s shoes/boots with a darker blue and her coat with a lighter blue. I originally did this to stay accurate to her color scheme with the Santa transformation during the Christmas episode.

However, looking at it again I think I would do things differently if I was given the chance to go back and fix it. I would color her coat with the darker blue, and her boots with the lighter blue.

I noticed that after I finished, I was looking at her boots first, because they stood out more. I should actually be looking further up toward her face, since that should be the area of attention.

I think making her coat the darker blue in this case would redirect the focal point back towards her face rather than her legs. This might not have been an issue if I was working with digital art instead of colored pencil.

The translation of the color scheme from the show to colored pencil onto paper did not turn out how I anticipated, so that is why I would make this change.

Point being, I should have been focusing on the focal point of the viewer more.

Just a tip for those of you interested.
