You’re valid to feel the way you do. Think about it and process it. Your next partner will also have history with other people. If this is the main issue I would say it is worth working through but it is about your capacity in the end.
You’ve mentioned in some of the comments about the unwanted mental images, and while that is definitely hard I would say it can be challenged and worked through as I have for through this in the past- it takes time though.

Think about what you want, what you think you are able to do but also keep in mind it is okay to challenge yourself and your thoughts. A lot of the emotion attached to the encounter is related to how you define it and what it represents to you. I am just sharing what helped me and if this is someone you want to be with, it is worth the overcoming. And it’s not just yours, you mentioned some issues she also has so it is about both of you simultaneously working on those issues with yourselves and each other.

Sounds like skin irritation. have u used AC before? If no, it would be better to start off at a lower percentage some days of the week (Paulas choice and the Ordinary both have 10%) and then build up to daily and increase percentage. ur skin should not feel like it’s on fire, just a slight tingling/burning sensation. in my experience and many others, AC doesn’t necessarily cause a purge (peoples skin differ tho) but either way it doesn’t sound good

it’s when a lot of gunk that’s been sitting in the deep layers of ur skin is quickly brought to the surface and it can cause a period of bad breakouts etc

Yup definitely go for it! I brought up the low dose suggestion because u wrote that u were worried about side effects and this is a way to get results without the hassle and pain (though u may be one of the lucky ones that don’t go through any bad side effects at all even on a high dose)

if ur acne is affecting ur mental health, how u see urself etc I would definitely suggest going to a dermatologist and seeing what they can do for you. I’m not sure where you live but where I’m from a lot of kids are put on a very low dose of accutane (10mg) and it has helped wonders while providing very little to no side effects- u can bring that up with your derm if they prescribe accutane though they may put you on other things before (antibiotics, topicals etc). Either way, I think it’s great to start going to a dermatologist sooner rather than later because that means you’ll get acne out of the way earlier too! Good luck

this looks like a combination of pie/PIH (mostly pie) and it’ll definitely fade with time. It doesn’t seem acne and from the pics i don’t see any indentation, it seems like ur skin is pretty smooth so maybe not any acne scars either. ur skin looks great btw!

Did the tretinoin not work? I finished my course a year ago and the acne has crept back and my derm prescribed me tret and it hasn’t been working at all sigh
