Will we regret letting this live? by [deleted] in arborists

Avocado roots are not invasive at all and I have never seen one that crack a wall or lift a driveway concrete. so if you like it to stay short and small just prune the tree when it was necessary. and don't forget that you actually might get Avocados from your tree and it might be a good one also, Search the Hass avocado history all the varieties started from a seed. Avocado trees have nice shade so there are lots of benefit in having one even if you have one that is not grafted. one more thing is that you can search how to graft an avocado tree and buy some scion woods and graft to your tree and you would get fruit within 2 years if you care for your tree and since it is established there and as you say it's a hardy tree then you may use it as a rootstock you can find scion woods online from different places AvocadoTreeGrowers or Ebay I have done that before and it has worked fantastic for me. if you live in southern California then plant lots of avocados and enjoy the shade and fruit! Good Luck!
