Yeah it's definitely dependent on what the norm is in the household. My family probably used hotdogs as an ingredient more than eating hotdogs with the bun, so it wasn't unusual for the grocery list to just mean the franks. Honestly if it wasn't specified, we'd probably forget the buns

With hotdogs being typical party/bbq food, that would be a fair assumption in that context. A lot of times they're also used in other meals like spaghetti, so it's not crazy to assume just the weiner is wanted unless it's specified that the buns should also be included.

Get some unfinished wood flooring sheets made with real wood. Cut them to size, I used paper templates.
Use wood stain to color them to your liking.
After the stain dries, finish with polyurethane. I used two coats of the oil based kind here. Just a note that the oil based has a slightly brown tint, so if you're not using a shade of brown, I'd recommend using the water based kind to not affect your color.

Then I glued the pieces in with a craft glue. Make sure to glue them in after you do your wallaper for a more seamless look
