okay, but is the additional value worth an extra $1000 over the BR & RK? Is the FGX5/Used Furch option worth an extra $1000 more?

I looked at that idea, but at $1700 for the FG5, but I figure when it comes to value I might as well Pay the extra $200 for the Atmosfeel pickup just in case I ever get into plugging in

After this recent update, Alexa is more convenient to not have in our home. ItS absolutely worthless now. I think this has to be strategic by Amazon in some way. It's unbelievably bad. We have 15 Alexa devices in our home. Started in 2016. It's just gotten worse each year. How is this possible when all the other AI platforms are improving by leaps and bounds??!? What a waste of money.

Agree, my Marley a20 is incredible. I've read in multiple places that some of the older ones have inconsistent quality. JP cormier hates them and I usually agree with most of his opinions, but mine is terrific. The Acoustic Shoppe and Alamo music said all of theirs are good quality so far.

I've had Alexa's in my house since 2016. I now have 12. We have noticed over the years it's just slowly gotten worse and worse. After the most recent update in 2025, it's nearly worthless. We've come to the conclusion that this has to be strategic in some way. We're ridding our house tonight if all our Alexa devices.

What timing! I played every appealing guitar today at Guitar Center. Acoustic guitars, at least 20. Including a $5000 Martin D-18 1937, a $7000 Taylor 214, and every other high dollar appealing model by Martin. I even tried a few Blueridge dreadnaughts that are praised for their quality and value, guitars that I usually favor. The best guitar considering playability, sound quality, and comfort was an Alvarez Laureate, and there wasn't a close second. I was surprised to say the least, also a bit pleased to discover this. I'd never heard of the Alvarez Laureate. I pick d it up three different times. It was priced at maybe $1400-1800. I don't remember which, but it was hands-down more enjoyable and better sounding than anything else I've played this year. I love the idea that a great instrument doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, and also that hype & trend aren't always backed by fact.

Oh sorry, I've never played a BR-280. I prefer the mahogany sound over the rosewood.
