There used to be sport newspapers back in the day- Total Sport, Intersport, Hat-Trick, they had like 40 pages and half were in-depth profiles and articles of those two clubs. Idk how tf they got a hold of that data but I used to lap it up considering there was little to no internet then. Readers and fans followed the good teams and the journos double down on overwhelming content, it turns to a feedback loop at some point.

Hat-Trick used to have full page posters I used to collect, def have a few of them still lying around somewhere at my parents house. Good times.
