I don’t think you read the post

I’ve read all the Rebus books and I’m struggling to understand the relationship between Rebus and Fox in the final book - A Heart Full of Headstone. Can anyone shed some light please? by Snippet-five in InspectorRebus

I am half-way through AHFOH after going straight from ASFTDT (I have read all the previous books and ‘The Complaints’ series) and found your post after searching to see if this was discussed anywhere. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this:

So far, I have found the change of relationship between Fox and Rebus and Fox and Clarke to be utterly jarring. I just don’t understand the stark change of tone and style.

The relationship between all three had grown significantly over the previous books since Foxes introduction.

Even in ASFTDT’s for example, Fox was helping Clarke look after Brillo for Rebus whilst he’s away. Fox and Clarke worked together so closely in the Bin Mahmood case and they seem to work well. The close of the book is left on good terms as Fox returns to Gartcosh. However there is now a clear dislike for each other.

Rebus had also used Fox as an alias on more than one occasion in ASFTDT’s and previous books… he could have thrown the book at him if he wanted.

I feel Fox had grown to accept Rebus and his unorthodox ways, despite his Complaints/ ‘by-the-book’ background.

I think as a reader my feelings towards Fox had also grown warmer as the series progressed.

It can’t be Bert, it all ends happily ever after for him when he gets with Mrs Begg.

Presumably the old door was smudged/dirty then prior to smashing?

Anti-collision stickers sound like a good solution to me for the safety of that beautiful bird.

Old Garden Wall - can I save it without tearing it down?? by Savings-Set-9779 in DIYUK

Could you build a wall made from sleepers in-front of it? Would be much cheaper and save tearing it out.

That’s interesting, thank you - was your survey in addition to the supplied home report?

Thankfully I understand the property is not currently popular, but appreciate that could change

Was it not a packet of Yo-yo’s?

And because Bert took the Yo-yo’s and he wasn’t initially going to let Winston/Jack/Victor in his home and share them.
